Observations on Personal Ads

I was going to update these in 2002, but they still all hold true.

Why do extremely religious people or 'born again' christians usually type in ALL CAPS? Or with no capitals at all? Jesus would want you to use proper capitalization and to write coherently

Do these web site people really think men are that gullible? (or are men that gullible?). Still, it's not like pornography is hard to find on the internet. I bet you could pick a word at random from the dictionary, do a web search for it, and turn up at least one porn site

Why do people who are 100 lbs or more overweight put their body type as 'slightly overweight'.

Is there anyone that doesn't like movies? Or having fun? I love reading ads that say "I love to have fun and like movies" That really tells me how you are different from everyone else.

Don't people have better things to do than email me calling me a loser? I might be a loser, but what does that make them?

Why do women I don't know send me instant messages, (which I hate, and mention I hate them in my profile), yet don't send me an email. Am I interesting enough to want to chat with, but not interesting enough to email?

Why do people place several ads at the same time, yet under different ids? But with similar ads and similar ids.

Why do people use 'add' as an abreviation, instead of the proper 'ad'? (after all, it's not 'addvertisement', it's advertisement). Okay, minor nitpick, but one that bugs me

Instead of saying 'financially secure' or 'financially stable', why not just come out and say the truth, they want a guy with money.

Why do people put photos of themselves in their ad or profile draped around someone else (presumably an ex). I mean, that's kind of deflating for a reader. Similarly, why the hell do they use those god-awful glamour shots. Horrible looking outfits, awful amount of makeup (looks like a clown school graduation picture), and poses that make them look like they've got some sort of spinal problem.

Why have I gotten almost no responses from single women, but so many from married women and even a couple from men? Shouldn't married women be talking to their husband or something? And while I've got nothing against gays (in fact, most the ones I've known have been very nice people), I'm completely straight & my ad was definitely in the man looking for woman section, not men looking for me.
