Analysis - Always has been the backbone of the team from the two headed combo of Oswalt/Zito to the fantastic performance of Johan and the kids (Cain, Haren, Francis, Olsen, James, etc...) Plus there has always been solid starters behind the main guys like Doug Davis, Nate Robertson, Kenny Rogers, Sidney Ponson, Derek Lowe, Kelvim Escobar, and Jeff Weaver who I've been able to milk for all their worth. If there is just one reason Boston has been able to remain in contention from day 1 until now it's because of the pitching staff. Absolutely no complaints from me... ok I still regret that Suppan entry and not trading Jeff Weaver before his value went in the negatives, but other then that I'm good. |
