August 17th - Dellin Betances and Cedric Hunter have been picked in the amatuer draft by Boston. More then likely both players were overdrafted but Boston felt so strongly about them that they knew they had to select themj, and with

August 12th - Big trade yesterday. Boston traded away starter Nate Robertson for two OF prospects, Corey Hart and Matt Murton along with 4 picks. OF was the one area in the minor leagues that lacked a big time prospect, but now with Hart and Murton joining Lind, Markakis, and Granderson the team doesn't look too bad at that position in the future.

August 7th - Despite a miserable last week, today Boston is .5 games out of 6th place!

July 29th - Two deals of note today before the trading deadline. Deal #1 Boston acquired Gavin Floyd, Zach Jackson, an August pick, and two increases in draft position for their first round pick. The GM seemed jubilant at the move, "This very well may be quantity over quality but with Drabek gone we felt we were getting more back here then what would be available at our pick." Deal #2 was again getting a August pick and a 5th rounder for Franklin Gutierrez and Tony Blanco. "Franklin Gutierrez has great potential, but as much potential as he has we felt the picks were needed more for our team." There's a rumor earlier about a possible deal that would send Jon Garland out of town to St. Louis but talks have seemed to cool there

July 28th - Today was a happy day for Boston. Coco Cordero will now have a closer's job, which gives Boston three big league closers! Also they just acquired their big bat they desired by picking up Richie Sexson for Johnson, Phillips, and Teahan. GM Brandon Riley was enthusiastic about today's turn of events. "This will prove to our fanbase we're trying to compete this year. We didn't want to give up the future but we definitely want to attempt to win this year. Repeat... Repeat... That's our mantra.

July 26th - Picked up Jacob McGee and Jair Jurrjens in the monthly draft this month. Moved to a solid 7th place, and just traded Estaban German for a Sept. pick and a 7th rounder... wow a lot has happened.

June 14th - Boston just drafted a young catcher by the name of Mike Napoli. Plus they are on a small winning streak and have moved into 8th place.

June 1st - Boston, who has really struggled this year, made a trade yesterday for the future. Doug Davis who has been one of the best pitchers for Boston the past two years but is part of the players who are struggling this year was traded to Texas for Matt Moses, Adrubal Cabrera, July Monthly, and a 7th rounder in the upcoming draft.

May 12th - Picks... Picks... Picks... Boston drafted: Kevin Kouzmanoff, Kevin Frandsen, John Koronka, and Dana Eveland this month. With the Red Sox slow start they expect to draft extremely early next month too...

April 10th - As much as Boston would love to spend like the Yankees. Today they finally decided having a 13.8 million dollar player in the minors is too much as they traded Beltre for Huber and two upcoming draft picks.

March 18th - The Database was updated today. In other news Luis Ayala will join Brian Lawrence on the DL and miss the entire season. So the Red Sox are on the hunt for another reliever

Feb 8th - Tons more news today. Josh Barfield the elite 2B prospect is no longer a Red Sox... instead 2 prospects and 3 picks are coming this way. Going with quantity over quality I guess... The local newspaper have begun crying out for GM Riley's head as he did not get another needed closer in the deal. A cry of "We want Theo back" could be heard all over Boston's streets. In response the GM countered by saying, "This deal could really backfire on us, or it could really be a great boon for us. I guess we shall soon see. For my safety I hope this deal turns out good."

Feb 8th - The Red Sox acquired a closer! Armando Benitez will now be the second closer for the team keeping them hopfully in the running for saves every week. Also coming to Boston is Craig Wilson who is coming off of a terrible injury plagued year but hopefully will rebound. Going to LA in the deal is Damaso Marte the quality lefty reliever and the 3rd base prospect Travis Hanson.  "We did this for the short term... we had to have a closer now!" the GM said poetically.

Feb 7th - The results are in, Boston has signed Jose Mesa, Erubiel Durazo, Jaimie Walker, and Russ Springer  along with a lot of role players. This will be Durazo's second stint with the team. "I was happy with Boston my first go around, hopefully I can prove myself this second time and bring Boston another championship." Boston while welcoming Durazo was slightly let down that another closer didn't come there way. "We gave it our best shot to bring in the closer we needed... hopefully our fans will believe us."

January 30th - Boston went closer crazy in FA this year getting the high bid on 5 closers. How many will they end up with... nobody knows, but perhaps a problem area has become a huge surplus. A huge trade happened today, Mench was traded for prospects Kelly Johnson, Ryan Garko, and 3B Mark Teahen.
