Love's Darkness
The darkness of the night
So dark there is no light.
The bats floating in the sky
Early morning birds fly.
Make a wish upon that shooting star
That your love my come from afar.
Hear the flautist play her tune
Listen now she's leaving soon.
Oh yes you love the smell of her rose perfume
Though you know she'll never accept you.
You remember the nights that you and her danced under the starlit sky
She told you not to be shy.
She reached her hand to you
You thought it wouldn't end anytime soon.
Little more than a year later
She left you for her "soul mate"
But you didn't hate her.
Instead, you looked into her hazel eyes
You tole her that you didn't dispise.
Though you knew that you were hurt
There was shown no pain inert.
She put your hand down
There was shown no frown.
Her bushy borwn hair swayed as she walked into the night
You looked back not to see the sight.
Give a sigh and let her be
The goddess of your love or just another lady.
So now you spend your nights alone
You're afraid to step foot into your own home.
Well, you long for her golden glow
And times when you two played in the snow.
You haven't seen her since
Wouldn't want to take another glimpse.
