MARIO KART

Mario Kart 64

Mario Kart is a basic cartoon racing game. You never have to use the break and get to attack you apponents by crashing into them with star, or shooting shells at them. You also can get booby-traps such as bananas or fake question marks. Overall it is an amazing game and is worth every penny (especially now that it can be bought for about $10).

BASIC OVERVIEW

Mario Kart is a 1-4 player game. In 1 player there is only one mode, Mario Grand Pre. In this mode there is 50cc(easy), 100cc(medium), and 150cc(hard). Once all three of these levels are beaten a new level is unlocked called "Extra". This level is the same competition as 150cc, BUT all of the race courses are now backwards making them more difficult. For 2 player, Mario Grand Pre is also availible.

When you have 2-4 players there are two modes that 1 player does not have. They are "Vs." and "Battle." "Vs." is the people playing race against each other with no computer players. "Battle" is a totally different mode and my personal favorite. Each person has 3 lives and using booby-traps and other items, the 2-4 players fight in any of 4 arenas. The last one standing wins. This mode has a special feature for 3-4 players which is the people who are dead while there are at least 2 players left become bombs and can kamikaze into other players. However, you only get one shot so be careful

MORE DETAILED DESCRIPTIONS

Characters: There are 8 characters and they can be as small as Toad or as big as Bowser. The smaller characters when hit suffer more than the larger players, however they are extremely fast.

Mario Gp: Extra is my personal favorite part of this especially on Toad's Turnpike, because the cars are coming towards you instead of away. It does not affect other maps like rainbow road as much because they are basically the same both ways. I have not tried out Bowser's Castle in Extra but i don't know how it would work with all the steps and the jumps. I think it would be impossible.

Battle: There are four arenas in battle mode.

  • Big Donut: basically a circle with lava in the middle.
  • Double Deck: multiple floors with holes to drop down to lower floors.
  • Block Fort: Bottom floor with four forts in the corners connected by bridges.
  • Skyscaper: tall building with no walls on the outsideand multiple holes in the middle and outer parts which you die if you fall down in.
