SHOPHOUSES ON ASDANG ROAD
These old shophouses
are on Asdang road. They were built in Fifth reign (1868-1910) in European-influenced
style with beautiful pediments on facades of ending units.
During the mid 19th to early 20th century, this
area was one of the famous business places where motor car showrooms and boat
engine shops were concentrated. At present, the buildings are in poor condition
and are mostly housed by truck-transport and warehouse companies.
