A day bike in the world heritage of Ayuthaya 01
         
  Ayuthaya, the socalled 2nd capital of Siam, was considered the kingdom the longest in our history. 417 years with 5 dynasties of 33 kings
  is so long. Many stories, folklores and facts,haunted in all the ruins and architectures, are awaiting for us to uncover. Come in and bike with
  us around Ayuthaya city which is honored by the Unesco, the World Heritage in 1991.

  The railway station of Ayuthaya   The ferry from the railway station to the Ayuthaya island near Chaophrom market   The 1st temple of the trip, Wat (temple) Mahatat. It was built in 1384 on the site that the relics of the Buddha showed miracle.   This collapsed Buddhist memorial in the shape of Prang (cornlike) used to be as high as 50 metres.   the sandstone head of  the buddha being protected by a ficus is the main highlight of Wat Mahatat  
                     
  the next door temple is Wat ratchaburana. it was built in 1424,on the cremation site of  the 2 brothers of King Chao Sam Phraya who fought to death for the unassigned throne.   Maha-oud (oneway in and out, no window) mondop is quite interesting in this temple   The remain of stucco decoration at the base of an assembly hall  is still beautiful   a side of the main Prang of Wat Ratchaburana   Entrance into the main Prang  
                     
  the air hole gives breathing air into the treasure room under   the way down to the treasure room   ceiling and wall mural painting in the treasure room   wat Phra Ram was built on the cremation site of king U=Thong, the founder of Ayuthaya city , in 1369   a remained wall of an assembly hall shows the beautiful stucco design.  
                     
  another view of the wat Phra Ram ruin.   the unique elephant ride in the world heritage which you can't find anywhereelse in Thailand.   the 3 chedi (buddhist memorial in bell shape) of  3 kings of Ayuthaya at wat Phra Sri Sanpetch   the sad scene of a missing head buddha in a small assembly hall of the temple.   viharn Mongkolbopit, a temple during the mide of Ayuthaya period,is restored from the collapsed ruin.  
                     
  This low relief design shows the condition of this viharn (assembly hall) during the late period of King Rama 5th, when he invited dyuke and dutchess of Yohan from Germany to visit the old Ayuthaya.   Phra Monkolbopit, the bronz Buddha image (except the right arm which is replace with the cement) of 9.55 meter high is the president of the hall.   khum khunpaen, is intentionally move to here to illustrate the real thai wooden house for the high ranking officer during Ayuthaya.   the open hall in the mid of the houses is used for general function.   a small room around a corner is designed for a kitchen.  
                     
  Wat Lok Yasutaram,known as wat Phranon, is believed to be built during the early Ayathaya period.   This sleeping buddha is of 42 meters long.   bikin onto the back of wat Phranon.   biking on the road around the Ayuthaya island, we can find many stalls making the popular snack of Ayuthaya, Roti Saimai (the roll of sugar thread over Roti)   Also, we bike pass a small communtiy who make weaving barb from palm leaves. The old generation weaved them in a mobile to acquiant their babies to the lives along the water way.
