Populous: An Introduction

Populous is a somewhat complicated game with a somewhat simple goal; to annihilate the other tribes on each world. If successful, you move on to the next world where you must begin fighting again. You must build a town and change your braves into warriors. Also, you have a Shaman that can cast magical spells to aid you in your fight. Below is a screenshot of the first level on Populous: The Beginning. I have put numbers in the picture and described what each number represents at the bottom of the picture.



1. Reincarnation Site
2. Brave
3. Shaman
4. Blast spell
5. Map
6. Mana
7. Button that shows number of braves
8. Shaman's health (white is full)
9. Tab that opens the "People menu"
10. Tab that opens the "Hut menu"
11. Tab that opens the "Spell menu" (which is currently open)
12. Opponent button, flashes when that opponent is attacking you. Also is used for turning your spies their color.
13. Water, deadly to your people (they can't swim apparently)
14. Trees, harvested to build huts
15. Swinging head, worshipped to give you spells
16. Hut, built to create more people
17. Sky, OOooo, isn't it pretty?
