Flying Cars in Vietnam

By the 1970s, the United States was the only country with any flying cars in operation. Even these were beginning to be phased out, and the majority were used as novelty items to entertain the troops. Beautiful American-built flying cars like the 1959 Cadillac seen here were flown to different aircraft carriers to provide morale-boosting rides for sailors. The fleet of flying cars was mothballed completely after several mid-air drunken driving incidents occurred off the coast of Vietnam. Some of the flying cars were flown to the western United States and crashed into the ground at full speed, creating what are now known as the famous "Cadillac Graveyards".
