Old Engine Removal

I had little blue up in the air pretty good to get at the top and bottom of the bay easily.  The back is on ramps the and the front is on stands.  Pretty stable this way.  Remove the hood completely.

The Engine can out pretty cleanly.  You definitely want to get the radiator out of the way to make room. For 194,000 miles, thing came apart better than I thought they would.

Having the right tools makes jobs a whole lot easier.  My impact wrench and ball joint separator made this fairly painless.  There is some sort of undercoating on the strut tower that doesn't want to come off.  I guess that's why it's not a rust bucket after being in this area for 15 years.

Here is some junk a removed...  Well, I guess it's just the AC stuff that never worked.  Saw-all made quick work of it

The old axles are in there, so they will be replaced. The old shift linkage is in there too.

Here is what the clearance I have for my alternator after making the dent in the frame rail.

More room can be made with a shorter belt.  There is a lot of room for adjustment on this bracket.
