TRD Dual Cat Back Exhaust

As many of you may remember, I installed the Borla from PP on my 1999 4Runner and was not very happy with it. After much pissing and moaning, PP took it back.

I just finished installing the new TRD Dual Cat Back Exhaust and I am much happier.

On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the Borla and 1 being stock, the TRD rates about a 6 on the noise scale.

From inside the truck, the Borla at certain rpm's, had an annoying reverberating high pitched exhaust note. The TRD has a low, warm, round exhaust note. I think it sounds like my friends V8 Grand Cherokee.

The tip of the TRD exits out the side and is tucked up a little higher next to the body than the factory tip. Should be better for the off pavement stuff ;-)

Right now I have the Battery disconnected to reset the ECU. I will report any increases in preformance and/or losses in torque in a day or so.

I did not keep this modification.
I was not happy with the loss of low end torque.
I tow a boat and it was not important enough to me to increase performance at the expense of the low end.
Also, the level of cockpit noise was rather annoying.
I may go with the TRD once it is released for the 1999's with CA Emissions.
