C. Correspondence:

D. Membership: no report
E. Legislative: Hal Cleveland reported on the House Bill H.R 2400- the DoD appropriations for fiscal year 2005. It was also suggested that we post a copy of TREA’s Legislative Reports here at the VFW for their info.
F. Chaplain: People were wondering how Ed Konzem was doing after his surgery – Jack will make a personal call to him. (Secretary’s note: Ed was at our Executive meeting, and doing much better.)
3. Old Business:
A. Convention cards: Lonnie owes Jack; cards have been stickered and Cindy will carry them down to the convention. We still need about 200 more stickers to finish up the cards and for handouts.
B. The next kitchen date will be Friday, the 27th of August; volunteers: Cindy, , , . (It will be after Chris’s surgery, so he will not be available to help.)

A. Jim Gukeisen proposed putting up a bulletin board from TREA in the front entry way of the post for us to pot menus and Legislative reports on. The Post OK’d it, and it was passed by the membership.
B. Also brought up was that our P.O. box bill was due and that our bulk mailing permit had expired. Lonnie suggested we hold off on the bulk mail until the next newsletter; Jim will pay the P.O. box bill.
5. Good of the Order:
A. It was suggested that we take copies of The Voice out to the base with the “active duty” part of the title highlighted to see if we can get some active duty members that way. Cindy will see that some of them get to the E-6 Association bldg.
B. Chuck gave us an update on the leadership problems here at the VFW post.
6. President Jack Dempsey adjourned the meeting at 1053.
