RAY RATLIFF

Ray Ratliff, 66, of Akron, Ohio, formerly of Greasy Creek, died Thurday, Jan. 21, 1999, at Akron City Hospital, following a long illness.

He was born on Greasy Creek, April 23, 1932, a son of the late Marion Columbus Raliff and Ella Adkins Ratliff.
He was a crane operator.

He was preceeded in death by one son, Glenn Ratliff.
he is survived by his wife, Mildred Cooley Ratliff; one son, Teddy Ratliff of Akron; two daughters, Annette Gillis of Barberton, Ohio, and Brenda Jones of Akron; four brothers, Herbert Ratliff, Denver Ratliff, and Ralph Ratliff, all of Akron, Joe Ratliff of Greasy Creek; four sisters, Hazel Beaver of Akron, Mary Robinson of Greasy Creek, Ruby Scalf of Martin County, Sylvia Sprinston of Erbacon, W.Va.; and five grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25, in the Justie Chapel with Old Regular Baptist ministers officiating. Burial followed in the Ratliff Cemetery at Greasy Creek. Arrangements are under the direction of Justice Funeral Home of Pikeville, Ky.

ELLA RATLIFF
Ella Ratliff, 87, of Akron, Ohio, formerly of Greasy Creek, died Sunday, April 5, 1992, in Akron.

She was born in Pike County, April 12, 1904 a daughter of the late Mose and Nancy (Adkins) Adkins. She was a homemaker.
She was preceeded in death by her husband, Marion Columbus Ratliff; Six Stepsons; and one stepdaughter.

She is survived by five sons, Ralph Ratliff, Ray Ratliff, Denver Ratliff, and Hoover Ratliff, all of Akron, Joe Ratliff of Greasy Creek; four daughters.  Hazel Beaver of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Mary Robinson of Greasy Creek, Ruby Scalf of Inez, Sylvia Springston of Erbaker, West Virginia; one stepson, Phillip Ratliff of Greasy Creek.
Four Sisters, Merrow Robinson and Delphia Bailey, both of Akron, Ohio, Hannah Justice of Red Creek, Evelyn Kendrick of Greasy Creek; one half brother, Bobby Adkins of North Carolina; 50 grandchildren (including Lonnie Douglas Ratliff -my dad), 58 great-grandchildren (including myself, Alta Fay Ratliff and my brothers, Lonnie Shannon Ratliff & Jeremy Dewayne Ratliff of Greasy Creek), and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 9, in the Justice Funeral Home Chapel with Grover Adkins, Hiram Adkins, Teddy Robinson, Wendell Hamilton, and Kermit Coleman officiating.  Burial followed in the Ratliff Cemetery at Greasy Creek. Arrangements were under direction of Justice Funeral Home of Pikeville, Ky.

ANDY "Freeman" RATLIFF

Andy Freeman Ratliff, 55, of Akron, Ohio, formerly of Pike County, died Thursday, May 5, at St. Thomas Hospital in Akron, Ohio.

He was born on Greasy Creek, March 30, 1933, a son of Ella Adkins Ratliff of Akron, Ohio (formerly of Greasy Creek) and the late Marion Columbus Ratliff.
He was a welder with McNeil Company.

Besides his mother, he is survived by six brothers, Ralph Ratliff, Herbert Hoover Ratliff, Ray Ratliff, and Denver Ratliff, all of Akron, Ohio, Phillip Ratliff and Joe Ratliff, both of Greasy Creek; and four sisters Hazel Beaver of Cuyahoga, Ohio, Mary Robinson of Greasy Creek, Ruby Scalf of Inez, and Sylvia Springston of Erbeken, West Virginia.

Funeral Services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 9, in the Justice Funeral Home Chapel with Old Regular Baptist ministers officiating. burial followed in the Ratliff Cemetery at Greasy Creek. Arrangements were under the direction of Justice Funeral Home of Pikeville, Ky.

LENNIE GENEVA SPEARS RATLIFF

Lennie Geneva Spears Ratliff, 70, of Greasy Creek, died at 10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, 1995, at Pikeville Methodist Hospital.

She was born in Pike County, Sept. 13, 1924, a daughter of the late Elkana and Artie Meecy Childers Spears.
She was a homemaker and was of the Church of God faith.

She is survived by her husband Phillip Ratliff, Sr.; six sons, Phillip Ratliff Jr., Alfred "Tip" Ratliff, Allen Bradley Ratliff, Mason Ratliff, Timmy Ratliff, and Aaron Ratliff, all of Greasy Creek; three daughters, DeAnna Gilbert, Donetta Yates, and Robin Kinney, all of Greasy Creek.

Three brothers, Robert Spears of Greasy Creek, Bill Spears of Akron, Ohio; Floyd Spears of Louisville; three sisters, Alma Robinson and Louemma Justice, both of Greasy Creek, Thelma Dunn of Elkton, Maryland; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services are scheduled to be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb 1, in the Justice Funeral HomeChapel with Ray Sayers officiating and burial following in the Annie E. Young Cemetery at East Shelbiana. Arrangements are uner the direction of Justice Funeral Home of Pikeville, Ky.

PHILLIP RATLIFF

Phillip Ratliff, of Shelbiana, died at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 21, 1995, at Pikeville Methodist Hospital.
He was born in Johnson County, Sept. 10, 1914, a son of the late Marion Columbus and Myrtle Preston Ratliff.
He was a retired coal miner, a member of United Mine Workers of America, Loca 8045, and a World War II Army Veteran.

He was preceeded in death by his wife Lennie Geneva Spears Ratliff who died Jan. 29, 1995.

He is survived by six sons, Phillip Ratliff Jr., Alfred "Tip" Ratliff, Allen Bradley Ratliff, Mason Ratliff, Tim Ratliff, and Aaron Ratliff, all of Greasy Creek; three daughters, DeAnna Gilbert, Donetta Yates, and Robin Kinney, all of Greasy Creek.
