Comeback to Table of contents
If You are relatively new to Internet, like I am, and would like to have an
Internet page of Your own, like I have, of the same topic, like mine, or of any
other, You can do it! Just follow the steps, I did, like described further and
don't forget to send me a message about Your successes and Your internet and
e-mail addresses, of course!
- Open the location www.yahoo.com (just
klick on it, if You're online) preferably in a new window of Your web
browser (rightclick on the address and select "Open in new window"
option), because it will allow You to follow my kind instructions You're
reading right now.
- When You are connected, select "Yahoo!Mail" in the upper right
corner of the screen. From here on You just have to answer questions
appearing on the screen or select options You want- it's not very
complicated. The following are only some hints.
- When You are connected, select "I'm new user. Sign me up!" in
the left portion of the screen or consider rather selecting some country You
can find under "Yahoo! Mail for international users" You can find
in the bottom right corner of the screen (it's possible, that selecting some
european country will result in higher- speed connection with the server
Your webpage will be located on). I've just overlooked this option as I was
signing up...
- Fill in the formular and don't forget to write down Your member name
access code. The alternative e- mail address You put into the formular will
be used by Yahoo! to send You some useful information about Your e- mail
account and later about Your new- created website.
- When You send all the information needed using a key located in the bottom
part of the screen You will be given a new e- mail address. Select the
option to come back to Yahoo!Mail that will appear on the screen.
- Look up on the screen to find the information about the possibility to
have a webpage of Your own and select it.
- Follow further instructions.
- All information about Your new e- mail address and website location will
be sent to Your alternative e- mail address You specified earlier by the
Yahoo! administrators.
- Connect to Your new website and You will find there a start page that
allows to make first steps in designing a page of Your own and menaging a
small website using some simple tools.
- If You want to save some money- who doesn't?- You can make Your webpages
and put it together into a web staying offline and then simply export it to
Your location in the Internet. Use one of many programs- some of them are
trialware, shareware or freeware- to do it. If You are using Microsoft
FrontPage, publish Your new web using File| Publish Web. When it is the
"98" version fill in the following location: http://www.oocities.org
, when the "2000" one, use the: ftp://ftp.geocities.com
and transfere Your files after specifying Your user name and access code.
- Connect to Your website and look at Your new born baby!
- Send me a message with Your e-mail and web addresses to trebor_olsus@yahoo.com
Maybe will make friends?
