Following "political" disagreements with Macpherson, Ewen got involved in the far right movement "Sons of the Fuhrer". This led to prosecution and an eventual custodial sentence for "international arms dealing". "I don't know what the fuss was about?" Ewen said later "It was really just about like-minded chums driving tanks across Europe".
Ewen later courted controversy with "Boring" Al Corrigal in the pseudo-nazi outfit "Agent Orange". Banned in North America, bootleg tapes of the bands gigs now exchange hands for under a fiver.
"He's just after attention" Macpherson said at the time.
