had been, but were told NO!!!, that it was too slope-y. We went down the road to the bear bag line and took the site in the field just across the stream from the woods where bear bag line is located. It was a beautiful night in a clear level field. Another advisor and I did lots of stargazing. The boys were in bed, sleeping or talking. They knew they had done it!!!!! Day 10 - Indian Writings - The morning was COLD!!!! No sun. We watched the sun as it came down the side of the hill. I went on a "geological expedition" (our euphemism for looking for a rock to "go" on) towards the hill and the boys figured I was walking toward the sun to walk back with it as it crossed the canyon floor. They joined me and we did that. The crew was on the road quickly and we were in Indian Writings by 9:30 AM. No one knew how to relax, since we hadn't had an easy day since Beaubien when we missed the conser-vation project!!!. We sang our theme song, "The Lumberjack Song" from Monty Python as we approached the staff cabin. We got their best site. Site 4, I think. It had a private bear cable, stream, trees, level, red roof just a short way across the road. What more could you want? A call to medical said that all three crew members who were off the trail would be back for the last day. The remaining 8 of the crew are all excited. However, only the one Scout arrives. His ankle still hurts but he wants to finish with us. The advisor's knee is still swollen and the other Scout's foot is still too tender for Medical to release them. We finished camp set-up and lunch just barely in time for the 1PM tour of the petroglyphs. Boy, were we relaxed, with 9:30 to 1:00 PM to set up!!!! The tour was good, but a second-day crew from South Florida was really a pain. We all decided that only wimps would take a shower the last day - who wants to go into Base Camp clean? Two other of the seven crews in our council contingent were with us this night. They both showered! There will be four crews from Southern NJ Council at Six Mile Gate tomorrow!! Day 11 - Six Mile Gate - We were the 2nd of the four SNJC Crews at the gate. About half of our crew walked
