Actually, I think almost all the photos on this site are of pretty good quality, at least in terms of image resolution. (The quality of the photography itself may be a different matter, but there's not much I can do about that.) However, it is true that I usually can't post my photos at anything close to their maximum resolution.
I discovered recently that I had unlimited space and bandwidth available to post my site, and that everyone in the world had a super-fast T3 Ethernet connection to the internet. This, of course, was when I woke up. In fact, I am quite limited by all of the above factors, particularly since I have so far limited myself (mostly) to free web-hosting services. I have tried to strike a balance with this latest refit of my site between the need to post high quality images and the need to avoid obscenely large files. I think I have done reasonably well in this regard. For internet pictures, these are actually pretty good, and as an added bonus, you will hopefully notice somewhat faster loading times on my site.
If there are particular photos you see that you would really like high-quality versions of (either as a jpg file or a physical print), you can request those from me and I will do my best to accommodate (see the next question).
Just email me your request. Please make sure to describe the photo you want and tell me what page it is on. Better yet, include the specific file name of the image you want in your email. (You can get the file name by right-clicking on the image and choosing the "Properties" option on the pop-up menu. The file name is the part after the last slash in the URL, and it will end in a ".jpg" extension.) Also, be clear whether you want a copy of the file or a physical print of the image; if you're requesting a physical print, remember to tell me what size you want. And don't forget to include a mailing address!
In general, I'm happy to send out reprints, but please be reasonable. Anyone requesting particularly large numbers of physical reprints may be asked to contribute toward the cost of film development/photo printing/shipping.
I have checked every page of this site, and I am almost certain that every link works and every photo is in its proper place. However, this is a large site, and errors can slip through the cracks. If you see a broken link icon where a picture should be, try right-clicking on it and choosing "Show Picture" from the pop-up menu. This solves about 95% of these kinds of problems. If that doesn't work, try going back or reloading the page. If, after all this, the picture still will not load, please email me with the location of the problem so I can check it out.
