In Fall of '95, I joined an established band called "Doogs." If you're lucky, you might hear Doogs' "Santa's In Jamaica" at Christmas on WNEW radio!

The photo to the left was taken at one of the band's shows at Digital Sound in Parsippany, New Jersey. (I'm the one wearing the goofy Santa hat.) From left to right: Chris "Chi-Chi" Trembath, Scott "Doogs" Kastner, Pat St. John (from WNEW radio) and Tony "T" Curatola. Pat St. John was on hand to introduce the band.

Doogs rehearsed  twice a week in unused office space at the Penril Datability office complex in Carldstat, NJ. This became their base of operations so to speak, and before long, a makeshift but very functional recording studio was constructed to record some of the bands most famous hits.

Doogs performed shows at various stores and clubs throughout Northern New Jersey including Digital Sound on Route 46 in Parsippany,  Maggie's Garter in Nutley and Record-Record in Pompton Lakes. (Record-Record no longer exists as the result of a fire that destroyed the Ben Franklin Mall.)

As with many bands, however, the pressures of daily life crept in and eventually led to the band's breakup. However, if I know Doogs well enough, the band will be again...even if only for a reunion.
