SMITH- George W. Smith married Hanna Culp on July 31,1845. They are both buried at Jackson Furnace Cemetery just north of South Webster, Ohio. As far as I know these are all of their children: Jefferson, Alexander, Madison, Emiline, Leander and Matilda. George is as far back as I have found so far. It is widely believed in the Smith family that George came from the Pennsylvania Dutch country.
SHOPE- Our Shope line comes from Murtzweiler, Germany. The earliest Shope found has been Daniel, born about 1610.  Schopp, Schupp, Schoph, were variations of the spelling of the name Shope. I think it stayed Shope once John Jerrick Shope came to America from Mertzweiler, Germany. He died in Salisbury, Stokes, North Carolina around 1800.
Our Shopes lived in Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina and Ohio.
JOHN SHOPE

Father of William McKinley Shope
The above picture is: William McKinley Shope(left) Violet's father. John Shope is sitting in the chair, he is Williams father and on the right is Bill Shope, brother to John Shope.
WOODRUFF-   The Woodruff family has roots all the way back to 1500 with the birth of Thomas Woodrove. Different spellings for the Woodruff name are:  Woodruff, Woodrove and Woodroffe. John "the immigrant" Woodroffe must have changed the name to Woodruff. He was born in 1604 in Kent, England and died in Long Island, New York in 1670. Some of the Woodruff family migrated west. I have several copied pages of a family Bible with lots of Woodruff family history and pages of court business for many of the family concerning Census records, Wills, Deeds, Military records and Tax information. Some of the places the Woodruff family lived were : Kent, England, Long Island, New York, Bergen and Union counties, New Jersey and Meigs, Washington, Jackson, Lawrence and Scioto counties, Ohio.
Eliza Ann Woodruff- (above) married Charles Smith (below) They are Albert Smiths parents.
