My Trip to SpainDuring the summer of 2000 I traveled to Spain with my school. One of my best friends Mike traveled with me. We traveled to Madrid, Spain's capital. Madrid was so awesome. There were a million stores to shop in, great restaurants, and clubs. The streets held beautiful buildings, gorgeous monuments, and water fountains decorated with beautiful flowers in the middle of the city. In Madrid we visited El Prado, the third largest museum in the world. Painters such as Velasquez had beautiful old artworks on display. One day we also visited El Placio Nacional, the former home of the Spanish King. Now it is a huge museum. My favorite city we visited was Seville. I have never seen a more beautiful city. Down every avenue was a row of pink flowers. We took a horse carriage ride through the city and saw Seville's gardens, a palace, and a golden tower right on the water. That night we all went on a huge boat on the water at this tower. It was a club boat. Our group rented it and we held a dance on it. We went up and down the river seeing all the lights of the city all around us. It was so beautiful!!! After spending a few days up north we traveled down south, stopping in various cities until we reached the coast. When we arrived at the coast, called La Costa del Sol, our group spent the remainder of the trip tanning on the beach of the Mediterranean. We rode banana boats through the ocean, ate paella at a restaurant on the beach, went swimming and had the time of our life. After spending the afternoon at the beach, we went shopping at the stores scattered on every street above the beach. Hundreds of vendors lined the cobble-street rode which winded down to the beach; much prettier than our boardwalks in the U.S. There were exotic flowers everywhere on the streets and where the beach began. It was so beautiful and we took a million pictures there. Visiting Spain was one of the highlights of my life. I can not wait until I can go back to the cities and study there in college.
