F.C. Barcelona Presidential Candidates

Six club members have thrown their hats into the ring for the Presidential elections to be held on 15th June: Ll. Bassat, J. Laporta, J. Llauradó, J. Martínez-Rovira, J. M. Minguella and J. Majó.

The electoral campaign officially gets under way on Thursday 5th June and will finish with the final voting at the Nou Camp on Sunday 15th.

Josep Maria Minguella, with membership card number 4.321, is an ex players' agent, who's brought a number of stars to the club in the past. He was a member of the back room staff during Vic Buckingham's time as manager and was also, for a short while, a sporting advisor to the last board of directors.

Josep Martínez-Rovira, member number 17.643, was a member of Lluís Bassat's team in the 2000 elections and then joined the board as a non-executive vice president, a post he quit a few months later.

Jaume Llauradó, member number 17.671, is the President of the Fòrum Samitier. He was an early candidate in 2000, but finally ruled himself out of the race. He became a vice president under Joan Gaspart, but left the board in June 2001.

Joan Laporta, club member 27.869, was also a member of Luis Bassat's team at the last elections and was one of the movers of the first censure motion tabled in March 1998.

Jordi Majó, with club membership card 29.300, is involved in his first electoral campaign at the club.

Finally, Lluís Bassat, member number 62.389, is the only contender who has previously been a candidate in a presidential race, coming second to Joan Gaspart in 2000, with 19.791 votes, 43'1 % of the total.
