When Trevor St. John headed to the Big Apple, he had one thing on his mind: theater! "I love it -- I love the freedom of it, and the improvisational aspect of it," he enthuses. "I'm a performer, and there's an electricity and excitement to being on stage."
St. John's romance with live performances began in college where he studied jazz, and wowed the crowds as a drummer. "It's really about performing, whether you're on stage as a musician or an actor. When you act in movies and television, it doesn't feel like performing," he says, noting that there's a piecemeal aspect to film because of the countless takes required to make the scene camera perfect. "You do a scene, you do some acting...and then you wait for three hours. Basically, you're acting for about two minutes a day!" he recalls with a laugh. "I love both, but in theater, you're on your own when the curtain goes up until it goes down again!"
