I was supposed to start my new contract on Monday, but stayed at the City of Hope a few extra days and didn't get back to MS until about 2:30 Wednesday afternoon. After starting my new job 3 days late, I left work early on Thursday to avoid the closing of the SR520 bridge (due to the storm) and because there was a Seahawks game at 5pm. I didn't leave early enough because it ended up taking me 3.5 hours to get home. Friday morning I woke up and turned on the TV to see if the bridge was open - it wasn't. So, instead of taking the bus, I drove to work because of the detour. When I got to the MS campus, all of campus was without power and a lot of trees had been knocked down. We were sent home at 11am - the begining of another 3.5 hour drive home. Here are some pics of the fallen trees around building 6 on the main campus.
