A) Reminder of Tri Beta Dues
· Please remember that membership fees are due next meeting
· $15 per semester or $30 for the entire school year
· Please make checks out payable to Tri-beta Biological Society
and make sure to turn it into Chang our treasurer.
B) GRE Raffle Fundraiser
· Members are reminded to sell their raffle tickets and if you
need extra, please contact Chang.
C) Medical School Seminar Update
· Last month a representative came over to USF to inform
students interested in attending Medical School about the different
aspects of the application process.
· If you wish to contact the speaker with any questions you may
have regarding Med School, contact Chris Sotto as he has her
information available.
D) Awards
· Every semester there will be an "Associate Member Award"
and
a yearly "Most Spirited Award".
· Most spirited award will be given to one member who has shown
great enthusiasm and constant interaction within the club.
E) Community Service Update
· For anyone that did not sign up for community service this
month you may check our website to see what's available. Remember
that drivers are needed.
· On Saturday, October 27, there will be the October Outreach
Habitat restoration at Golden Gate Park. It will take place from 8am
to 1:30pm. If you have any questions you may contact the
coordinator, Rochelle.
· Brown Bag lectures at UCSF are still available and if you
are interested please check the website for dates. Just make sure to
write a summary of that particular lecture and turn it into Rochelle.
F) Team Updates
· Mentor Team
Dr. Sullivan's Bio 106 Class is having an exam soon and Uyen has is
willing to give students her old exam as a way to practice. Please
contact her if you are interested and so that you may Xerox her exam.
· Fundraiser Team
It has been planned that pumpkins, candy and krispy kream will be
sold for Halloween.
· Main Event
On November 12th 15th speakers of different professions that are
science related will be brought into USF. If anyone knows a
professional that can speak during one of those days please let the
main event team know.
· Network Team
If anyone is interested in doing community service at UCSF, there are
application available and which may be obtained by contacting Ritchie.
Hopefully by next meeting applications or update on community service
at St. Mary's Hospital will be available.
· Social Team
Bowling night on November 9th ?
Ice skating in December?
Ski trip retreat?

· Did you know that coco beans have been found to have
antibacterial agents that may actually help your teeth?
