Tri-City Homeschoolers has no elected leaders: we all share in the responsibility of maintaining our group’s activities. Each family takes a turn planning a field trip and hosting the Mothers’ Support meeting for one month. Other duties (e.g. newsletter editor, babysitting co-op coordinator, etc.) are rotated among members as needed.
Every 1st and 3rd Friday of the month, from 1:00-4:00 pm, we meet for socialization and play at parks in the Fremont-Union City-Newark area (weather permitting). The park location changes each month.
The last Friday of each month, beginning at 8:00 pm, we offer a support and planning meeting for parents only. Location changes monthly.
One or two field trips are planned for each month to area locations.
Occasional classes, such as lessons, are organized among interested group members.
Various weekly or bimonthly activities are planned for groups of two or more families. Activities can be academic, physical, hobby, or social. Our group sponsors the only homeschool CubScout Pack in the Bay Area.
Occasional family outings, such as dinners or camping trips, are planned. We also have a Scout Troop.
A food co-op and a babysitting co-op are among services offered to members.
As we find it necessary and have the resources to do this, we sponsor informational presentations about homeschooling.
To find out about all our many activities, you may subscribe to our monthly newsletter. Fee reimburses copying and postage costs.
There is no cost to join our group, however certain activities may have some costs associated with them (field trips, for example). We do ask for reimbursement of copying costs for our newsletter, babysitting co-op, and any other relevant activities.
