BRAKES
Basiacally if you can afford it, have a disc on the front and a magura on the back. I'd recommend a disc on the back but theyt break the mounts of the frames. Use Kool stop pads on your magura(s) and if you have a disc use soft compound pads by EBC.
V brakes are OK if they're set up well, and you use some soft pads. you got to keep them well maintained though or they could start to rattle and rust!
