Tribe Recruitment Criteria

1.                  How do I become a member of Tribe?

A.    To become a member of Tribe you would have been asked to join by a Shikken, who would have been monitoring your activities for some time for Tribe character qualities.

2.                  What do I have to do once I am a member of Tribe?

A.                Aside from maintaining Tribe ways and being placed under a commanding Shikken, the only physical requirement is to create a Tribe character.  This character should be very capable of any and all tasks with the Tribe name in the character’s name.  For example; Tribeforce, Tribalknight, wtf-tribe, etc. This character is never deleted, once a Tribe member always a Tribe member.  All Tribe characters will be listed on Tribe web site.  www.oocities.org/triballands/

3.                 Would I have to give up any of my gear to be a member?

A.                Never.  There is no official trading among Tribe members.  A Tribe member should give freely with no expectation of a return item other than a thank you.  There is no begging for items as Tribe members pride themselves in magic finding and acquiring their own items.  Emperor, Shikken, and Shogun level Tribe leaders are required to reward their best member.  Spare items are always distributed to other Tribe members.

4.                 Do I have to give anyone my password to my acct?

A.                Like Blizzard, no member of Tribe will ask you for your account password.  There are several members who share accounts and absolutely trust one another with their accounts.  This is a judgement that only you can make.  All members should be trust worthy, as it is a Tribe criteria.

A.

5.                 If I have a problem with something or someone in Tribe, whom would I address my issues with?

A.                If you were a level entry Samurai, you would address your issues with your Daimyo.  If your Daimyo is not available then the issue should be addressed with your Shogun, then Shikken, then Emperor.  A chain of command allows everyone freedom to deal with their own matters.  Last option in case there is no one in the chain available, you may contact him or her by their email address found on our web-site.

6.                 Is there someplace we all meet on a regular basis?

A.                Tribe channel is the most common place to convene.  Unless you need to be in a different channel to conduct some activity, it is preferred for all members to be in channel “Tribe”.  One solid reason for this is simple.  Whenever you exit/leave a game you will return to that channel, if you are not on someone’s friend list you have a better chance running into other members in this channel.

7.                 Can I join other groups or Clans and still be in Tribe?

A.                Yes.  Be aware that Tribe comes first and not to mix other obligations with Tribe affairs.  Although it is nearly impossible to be a member of multiple organizations/groups it is not improbable and therefor entirely your choice.

8.                 How do move up in rank?

A.                Like any rank structure, you are always being reviewed, watched, and evaluated.  A Samurai that has performed well and gone beyond his/her duties after at least three months of membership will be considered for promotion by his/her Daimyo to the Shogun.  A Shogun will then address your potential promotion with the Shikken.  A Daimyo is required to maintain that position for a minimum period of 5 months and is reviewed every 2 months afterwards.

9.                 Can I be removed from Tribe and how?

A.                Yes.  If a member, however unlikely it may be, commits a dishonorable act such as stealing from another Tribe member, then he/she will be an outcast from Tribe.  That individual’s name, account info, and reason for status will be posted on the Tribe web-site so other members may know of the matter.

10.            After being outcast, is it possible to be reinstated into Tribe?

A.                Yes.  Considering the extent of the act, time away, and redemption has been performed, then it is very possible for the Council of Shikken to propose a reinstatement to the Emperor.  For example:  Tribe member X was caught scamming another Tribe member.  X has been outcast.  X took it upon him/herself to repay and seek forgiveness from that Tribe member.  Only that Tribe member may seek reinstatement on X’s behalf with his/her Shikken.  If considered, X may have to do additional tasks to seek the entire family’s forgiveness.  Once satisfied, X is welcomed back into the family but under strict supervision by his/her superior till sanction probation has expired.  The Shikken sets sanctions.

11.            What if I am accused wrongfully by someone not in Tribe?

A.                The matter will be thoroughly researched and reviewed, but ultimately a Tribe member will always be believed over non-Tribe individuals issuing accusations.  However, if there is a pattern of similar acts, these will be taken into consideration.  Understand it is possible for one person to say many things and everything said is a lie, however it is unlikely for many people to say the same thing and it is not true.

12.       Why do I see everyone saying StrnHnr, S&H, Strength and Honor?  What is that all about?

A.        Str&Hnr = Strength and Honor.  This is a Tribe motto.  Yes, it was taken from the Gladiator movie but it means much more than simply a movie cliché.  Honor is the root of Tribe and together we are stronger to deal with any and all obstacles.  Strength also comes from within, and no member is of Tribe without Honor.  Str&Hnr is said whenever a member enters bnet, enters a game with other Tribe members, enters a channel with other Tribe members, he/she initially greets all others with “Strength & Honor” or it’s abbreviations.  This is the ultimate in hello or goodbye for a Tribe member.
