The foundation of Tribe

Honor

Power, wealth, and position- all these mean nothing to a member of Tribe if he is without honor.  Honor is a reflection of his character and the character of his familyv.  It is a measure of his worth in the society, his dependability, his personal character, his trustworthiness, his decency, and more.  The honor of a family affects the honor of an individual and vice versa.  Basically the actions of one individual member can affect the entire family(Tribe).  With honor come respect, power, influence, and position.  Without it, people can expect disrespect, humiliation, and insults.

Honor is something the individual earns through his actions, like experience in his life.  Moreover, honor can also be lost, depending on the actions of the character.  In fact, honor is easier to lose than to gain so members must carefully consider the consequences of their actionsw.  Breaking faith, treachery, cowardice, and un-avenged insults result in a loss of honor.  Valiant deeds, self-sacrifice, mastery of skills, keeping faith, and devotion to one’s family (Tribe) earn the individual honor.  As the member gains honor he also gains more respect from his/her peers, obtains favor from other members, and ultimately gaining more responsibilities to greater ends.

Tribe honor is different from the honor of a cavalier or of the paladin alone.  It is not simply a judgment of good and evil.  People with high honor are not necessarily good and those with low honor are not necessarily evil.  A cruel villainous person can possess high honor and a heroic samurai like individual, through unfortunate circumstances, might possess low honor.  Honor is more a measure of the deeds accomplished by both the individual and his family.  It reflects obedience, loyalty, talent, and success, qualities that can be held by any member regardless of alignment.

It is the responsibility of the Emperor to keep track of his Shikken as the Shikken is responsible for his/her Shogun and so on, however ultimately all are responsible for maintaining the honor that is TRIBE!!!

As the Emperor keeps track of his list of Shikken to note what outstanding deeds they may have committed or how well his Shikken commands so should each command under the Emperor do for those who serve under him/her.  With this in mind, those who excel/exceed the standards are awarded accordingly.  For example, an Emperor will reward his Shikken with items needed for his/her characters specifically set aside as a reward for outstanding work/servicelto Tribe.  As a Shikken should do for his/her Shogun, Shogun for Daimyo, Daimyo for Samurai.  All members regardless of rank should pride him/her-self in acquiring their own items.  Hand-me-downs should only be expected from an older brother or sister with clothes.  The reason some members seem to have more items than others is not based on any factors other than time spent to obtain items on their own.  This is no different than the level one member’s character over others as he/she could not have gained these levels from chat channels or wasting time doing absolutely nothing to increase his/her character level and individual experience.  There is no honor in begging for things as there is no honor in lying or stealing.  There shall be no Tribe member without honor as honor is the backbone of a Tribe member.  Honor for his/her Tribe brethren/cistern, Honor even in the face of dishonor, Honor above all and all will follow.

v What one member does towards another member or non-member reflects on the whole of the Tribe (family).

w Just because this is a game does not excuse one from being respectful, honorable, being an example of what a gamer should be.  We must all consider that behind every character on the games we play on-line there is a living being behind the mouse controlling that character.

l This in no way deviates from the rule of no paying for trading with members.  In fact, this is in line with the epitome of the Order of Tribe code.  To give without someone asking or selectively hinting at their needs and without hope of a return for the gift given.
