No Fair !!!!!!!!!!!

It's one thing to have to play in the AFC Championship with a
handicapped defense.

But it is altogether unfair when the offense doesn't show up.

In all seriousness, I have always said our inconsistent play is our achilles heel, along with a suspect defense. It is extremely disappointing that we held the Pats to 5 FG's when they were in the Red Zone 7 times and all our offense could muster is two
TD's and 5 turnovers.

This loss is on Manning #1 and Marvin #2. Crucial TO's by the main stars was the difference. Especially Manning. I give him credit - we wouldn't have gone this far without his play the past two weeks. Still, it is deeply disappointing he didn't come through.

Our defense....damn, we had 3 INT's right into our hands and dropped all three. That would have stopped 3 scoring drives.
Those are the things that make the differences in championship teams.

I sure hope the Colts plan on loading up on the defensive side during the draft. We were a defense away from a Super Bowl.

Thumbs down

I'm a Manning backer and he played like sh!t today, but we need to resign him and the only starters I want to see left on defense next year is Freeeney, Thornton, Bashir and Doss. I would keep Washington around as a back-up but we definetely need a big change on D .

I can't fault the D at all today. They overcame 5 turnovers and got a couple of turnovers to boot. Could they have played better, for sure. But under normal cicumstances they played well enough for our offense to win. This loss is on Manning and Co all the way.

Both sides of the ball played horrible. The D couldn't get off the field to save their lives in the first half, and the O-Line may as well have not even been on the field.

NO WAY can you criticize the O-line IMHO. The line gave great holes to Edge early on but we decided to go strictly to the pass after we made it 15-7.

Manning had plenty of time 90% of the time and SHOULD HAVE run it for positive yardage quite a few times rather than hoping to find a receiver and making his line work even harder to protect.

Nope, the line did just fine. This one was lost on bad passes from Peyton, a bad snap and Marvins fumble. It also didn't help that the D dropped two or three INT's. But hey, at least the D held tough late in the game and gave our offense a chance.

Peyton made those bad passes when he was flushed out of the pocket due to pressure.

My good man Bodey, I hope this does not mean you don't think we need some major changes on defense? I know the Offense let us down today, but this defense needs a major overhaul. The offense IMO needs some OL help, but this defense need some attitude. IMO we need at least one new starter on the D line, One new starter on the LB crew and at least one new CB.

No, I think we need some help on D, namely a MLB & a DT who can apply pressure up the middle on passes consistently and play the run solidly. I just think our D outplayed our O today, or atleast played well enough for our team to win under normal circumstances.

JonEU, this is where me and you really differ. You don't like Washington that much but I have to disagree. He adds another dimension to a DUngy defense called blitzing, something he couldn't do much of with LBs in Tampa. He makes plays and I believe that while he culd use a better backup with slightly better pass coverage skills , he should be a starter next year.

Oh and Peyton did suck today but you can't expect him to be great every time....YES WE CAN!

re

I felt the offense line did not have a good day.
If I rated
QB-F 4 INT
OL-D 4 QB sacks
WR-D Looked timid, did not get open
RB- B+ Edge played good
DL- D- Another sorry game
LB- C Only because Thorthon made a few plays
CB & S - C+ Dropped a few balls, 1st half-F. Brady had to much time
Coaches- D N.E. controlled game. Got lucky that they kicked FG instead of TD's
Over all, a bad day
