Why does everyone think Tom Brady is so goo?

I can't really understand why everyone thinks that Tom Brady is soooooooooo good. He went to the Super Bowl 2 years ago. Did he lead them TO the Super Bowl? Nope, he picked up after Drew Bledsoe had already gotten them half way there. Does that mean he's a good QB? No it means he took the reins of a team with a stellar no name defense and rode them to the championship. Sound familiar?

To me Tom Brady is much like Trent Dilfer during the Ravens Super Bowl run. He's not spectacular. He's not flashy. He's not great. He's just good. He doesn't make lots of mistakes.

So what kind of a QB is he? He had a QB rating last year of 85.7 which was good enought for 18th overall. He through the 7th most INTs last year among all QBs with 14. And he completed 62% of his passes. Does that sound like the next Joe Montana? How about this year? A rating of 85.9 for 21st overall. A great improvement over last year. Had another 12 INTs.

So lets compare him with other QB's of his statistical equivalancy, and who would that be?

Aaron Brooks through less INT's9(8 vs Brady's 12), more TD's(24 to 23), had a higher rating (88.8 vs Brady's 85.9), through for only 80 yards less overall, 59.1% completion rate(compared to 60.2) and averaged 5 less yards passing a game.

Brady was in the company of Brooks, Kitna, and Chad Pennington.

Of the QB's who started the majority of the season for their teams, this is the rundown of statistically who's the best.

  1. McNair
  2. Peyton
  3. Culpepper
  4. Trent Green
  5. Jake Plummer
  6. Brett Favre
  7. Matt Hasselbeck
  8. Aaron Brooks
  9. Jon Kitna
  10. Tom Brady
  11. Brad Johnson
  12. Marc Bulger
  13. Jake Delhomme

I could go on, but I think you get the point.

Brady is a GOOD quarterback who most likely won't lose the game for you. But he's not even close to a GREAT quarterback like Joe Montana, who he gets compared to just because he has an undefeated record in the playoffs. The only reason he is undefeated in the playoffs is because he has always had a stellar defense and coach to win his games. He's been consistent enough to make sure the offense doesn't screw it up. But until he takes over and leads the team like Manning has the last couple of weeks, he is not and will never be a GREAT quarterback like Peyton is and will be.

I believe he did lead them. Look at the record up until Drew got hurt. Then look at the record with Brady as starter.

His team went 14-2 and are in the AFC Title Game. That's a leader/winner.

He's also never lost an OT game. I think going undefeated in the playoffs is something to admire. Darn hard to do, too.

Who was the QB who drove his team down the field with a minute left to go in the Super Bowl 2 years ago? Brady. He's an amazing QB who wins. Stats aren't there but stats are for people who can't win when it counts.

Don't spill any Chowda on ya Grogan joisey, Ryan One reason NE won't win is because Houston passed a law that if you kain't talk rot (like NE and Philly) you ain't welcome to stay a spell.

Ok, ok...

Who was the Quarterback who should have FUMBLED his team out of the AFC Championship 2 years ago?

Tuck Rule? TUCK RULE!?!

Betcha the Raiders fans around have another name for it.

That ref should get paid for every media-mention of Brady's UNDEFEATED playoff record.

WTF are you here for Ryan? Want to give Brady props? With all due respect, are you a Colts fan or a Patriots fan? I don't give a **** either way, I don't think either of us has the juice to influence the game. Just wondering.

I think the easy answer to why everyone thinks Tom Brady is so good is because he is! The guy has proven himself. I will look at it as a great accomplishment when we beat Brady and the Patriots tomorrow. Go Colts!

He just fits Billy's system real good.
