BILLY'S APPLE PIE


CRUST:

2 cups flour
2/3 cup shortening
1 tsp. salt
4 or 5 Tablespoons cold water

Mix all together and divide into
2 balls of dough.
With rolling pin, roll each
ball of dough out on floured surface.
Makes 2 (9-inch) crusts.
Place one in bottom of pie plate.
Save the other to top the pie.

PIE:

Mix together:
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt
3 cups sliced fresh apples
(or 2 cans drained)

Place into a 9" unbaked pie shell.
Top with unbaked pie crust.
Sprinkle a little sugar on top of
crust. Make 5 small slits (1/2-inch)
in crust with a knife.

Bake at 400 degrees until done
(45 minutes to 1 hour).
