     2 sticks margarine
     2 cups brown sugar, packed
     5 eggs
     3 Tablespoons sweet milk
     3 scant teaspoons soda
     3 cups flour
     1 teaspoon nutmeg
     1 teaspoon cinnamon
     6 cups nuts (1-1/2 lbs.)
     1 lb. white raisins
     1 cup candied cherries
     1/2 lb. candied pineapple
     1/2 cup pear preserves
       (or marmalade)
     1 cup whiskey (optional)
       (may substitute grape juice)
     Brandy flavoring

    Mix sugar and butter in large
     bowl.  Beat eggs.  Add eggs and
     milk to sugar  and butter.  Add spices
     to flour and blend into sugar mixture.
     Pour whiskey (or grape juice)
     and brandy flavoring over fruit
     and nuts.   Mix until  coated.
     Combine all ingredients and
     drop by teaspoonsful onto
     greased cookie sheet. 
    Bake 20 minutes or until brown
    at 350 degrees.
