Okay, on the first screen you start at, there will be a door at the top left corner of the screen. Enter it and you will be in a cave with an old man. He will give you a sword. Now exit the cave, and go up one screen. You can kill the Octorok with your sword, and your shield is automatically equipped. Most enemies you can kill with your sword, but if you can't, I'll say. Otherwise just assume that you can kill it with your sword.

Now, go right a screen, then up a screen, then up again, then up again. Now go across the bridge to the west. Go inside the door and you'll be inside level one.

Now, the first room you are in will have lots of statues. Go
