ITEM LIST

Here is a list of the items in Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

KOKIRI SWORD - Found in the hole of Z, in Kokiri Forest, this sword is child Link's main weapon.

MASTER SWORD - This sword is obtained when you pull it from the pedestal of time. It is adult Link's main weapon.

BIGGORON'S SWORD - To get this sword, first go to Kakariko Village as adult Link. Get a pocket Cucco from the chicken lady, and use it to wake up Talon, who's asleep in one of the houses. Then take the pocket cucco back to the chicken lady to get Cojiri, a blue cucco. Now go to the stump in Lost Woods where the old man is and wake him up with Cojiri. He will give you a mushroom. Now, you must get the mushroom to the old lady in Kakariko Village before time runs out. To get to the lady, go inside the potion shop and go through the back entrance. A good tip for getting places on time is to leave Epona as near as possible so you can ride her. Now, the old lady will use the mushroom to make a special medicine. Take this back to where the old man was, but he won't be there anymore. Instead, give it to the Kokiri girl who is now standing there. She will give you a saw blade. Take this to the carpenter boss, who is across the bridge at Gerudo Valley. If the bridge is still broken, you can either get across with your longshot (there's a hookshot target), or you can make a running jump on Epona. The carpenter boss will exchange the saw blade for a broken biggoron's sword. Now go up to the top of Death Mountain. Facing the crater entrance, go to the wall on your right. A giant Goron will rise. He says he can fix the sword, but a recent eruption hurt his eyes. He takes the broken sword, and gives you a prescription, which you are to take to King Zora (you can only talk to King Zora if you've thawed him out with blue fire). King Zora will give you an eyeball frog, which you are to take to the Professor at the Lake Hylia Laboratory - before it goes off. The prof will use it to make the World's Greatest Eyedrops (a modest name, don't you think?). You have four minutes to take these eyedrops to the Biggoron. He will use them, and then give you a claim check. After a few days, come back to him with the claim check and he should be finished. A good way to pass the time is to use the Sun's Song. The Biggoron's Sword is twice as strong as the master sword, but is so big you need to hands to hold it, so while you're holding it, you can't use your shield. Note: You can buy one for 200 rupees from the other Biggoron in Goron City, but it will break after a couple of hits - don't bother buying it, it's a waste of money.

DEKU SHIELD - This is the first shield you get. You can buy it for 40 rupees at the Kokiri Shop. Since this shield is made of wood, don't let fire touch it or it will be burned, and you'll have to buy a new one.

HYLIAN SHIELD - This is the shield used by Hylian soldiers. You can get it for 80 rupees at the Bazaar, or you can get it by (as child Link) pulling back a gravestone in the Graveyard (the one second to the left at the first row). This shield is the perfect size for Link, but as child Link it's rather big, so instead of holding it in front of him, child Link bends down so it covers him. Good for surviving the showering rocks of Death Mountain.

MIRROR SHIELD - This shield is found in the Spirit Temple. It reflects light. But can't bounce back projectiles.

KOKIRI TUNIC - Link's basic tunic. You start the game with it.

GORON TUNIC - This tunic helps Link survive in extremely hot places. You can get it by buying it (for 200 rupees) or by stopping the young Goron called X (x standing for whatever you called yourself).

ZORA TUNIC - When used in conjunction with the Iron boots, Link can breathe underwater. You can buy it for 200 rupees, or by unfreezing King Zora with blue ice.

KOKIRI BOOTS - Link's basic footwear. You start the game with it.

IRON BOOTS - These boots are so heavy that when Link hops into the water, instead of floating he will drown. They are in a treasure chest at the end of the Ice Cavern.

HOVER BOOTS - Using these boots, Link can hover in the air for a short period of time. Hover boots have no traction, so when you wear them it will be like walking on ice. They are in the Shadow Temple.

DEKU STICK - A deku stick can be used as a sword (breakable), or as a torch.

DEKU NUTS - These nuts can temporarily stun some enemies.

FAIRY SLINGSHOT - Found inside the Deku Tree, you can shoot deku nuts at enemies.

BOMB - Found in Dodongo's Cavern, these will explode about four seconds after you use them.

BOOMERANG - The boomerang is inside Lord Jabu Jabu's belly. After you have thrown it, it will return to you.

HOOKSHOT - To get the hookshot, you must keep pace with the ghost of Dampe, who is in his grave.

FAIRY BOW - Found in the Forest Temple, the fairy bow shoots arrows.

MEGATON HAMMER - The megaton hammer is in the Fire Temple. It is a large, heavy hammer, good for hitting rusted switches and breaking boulders.

LENS OF TRUTH - Found in the bottom of the well, this item let's you see through illusions to see what's really there (invisible walls, walls that don't exist, stuff like that).

MAGIC BEANS - Magic beans can be bought from the bean seller, who is sitting by a fence near the beginning of Zora's River.

BOTTLES - Bottles are used for storing things, like potions, bugs, fairies and stuff. There are four bottles in the game. One is at the bottom of Lake Hylia as a kid, with the letter for Princess Ruto. Another you get when you beat the chicken game at Lon Lon Ranch (a good tip is to chuck all the cuccos behind the box before starting the game). There is also one that the chicken lady in Kakariko Village gives you when you find all her chickens. Here is how to get some of the harder ones:

One is in a crate. Roll into the crate. Another is up behind a small fence. Shoot at it with your slingshot. To get behind the big fence, use a cucco up at the elevated ground leading to the entrance to the windmill. You can glide over the fence with your cucco. There is another one behind the windmill - go up the ladder behind the big fence to get it.

MAGIC METER - To get the magic metre, go to the top of Death Mountain. There will be a bombable door next to the entrance to Death Mountain crater. Walk up to the pool on the triforce symbol and play Zelda's Lullaby. A fairy will come out and give you a magic metre plus the ability to do a spin swing.

DIN'S FIRE - As kid Link, go to the dead end in Hyrule Castle Field which is just past the gate. Bomb the rock and go through. Play Zelda's Lullaby in front of the pool to get Din's Fire.

FARORE'S WIND - Go to Zora's Fountain and get to the small island at the end opposite the entrance. The wall will be bombable. After you've bombed it, go thorugh. Play Zelda's Lullaby in front of the pool to get Farore's Wind.

NAYRU'S LOVE - At the Desert Colossus, there is a bombable wall between two palm trees. Go through, play Zelda's Lullaby in front of the pool, and you will get Nayru's Love.

FIRE ARROW - This is a special arrow with a fiery tip. To get it, first beat the Water Temple. Then go to the island in the middle of Lake Hylia (directly above the water temple entrance). Stand facing the plaque. Aim your arrow into the sky. As the sun is rising, shoot your arrow at the sun. It will catch on fire and fall onto the little island near where you are.

ICE ARROW - Get this arrow by beating the Gerudo Training Ground (to get in you must have a Gerudo membership pass). Tip: The way to the ice arrow is the left path through the key door room.

LIGHT ARROW - This arrow is used in defeating Ganondorf (you can use it against Ganon but you don't need to). You will get it when you go to the Temple of Time after you've got all of the medallions.

LONGSHOT - An upgrade of the hookshot, it can go twice as far. You get this after defeating dark Link in the Water Temple.

BOMBCHUS - These neat little things are walking bombs that can run up walls. If they hit something they will explode, but if they go too long without hitting anything, they'll explode anyway.

SILVER SCALE - This lets you breathe underwater for longer. Get it by winning the diving game at Zora's Domain.

GOLDEN SCALE - Lets you breathe underwater for even longer. Get it by getting a record catch at the fishing place as adult Link.

GORON BRACELET - Lets you pick up bomb flowers, grass etc. You get this after playing Saria's song to King Darunia.

SILVER GAUNTLETS - Lets you pick up and move silver boulders and blocks. Thye are found in the Spirit Temple as kid Link.

GOLDEN GAUNTLETS - These let you pick up the huge boulders. They are in the Shadow medallion area of Ganon's Castle.
