Trigun takes place in a western-based future, were there are ruins of lost technology and much was forgotten. Not many of the people of the new time understand it. Vash, though, mysteriously knows alot about most of the lost technology. He has been alive for many years now, and is no longer afraid of dying, thought... I don't think he really wants to.
