| There are alot of reasons why BMX Plus! sux ass. It should be called BMX Minus! It really shows kids the wrong way of BMX. From the letters to the advice they give, to the part review, EVERY aspect of the magazine can go screw a goose. Don't get this magazine, it will piss you off. | ||||||||

| Q: I was just wondering, how should i do hatchbacks? I've been doing them into my pool for a while but I can't find any other way to do them. A: Umm, do your parents know that you're driving cars into their pool? I'm not quite clear on what a hatchback is but with most tricks, your best bet is to give it a go on dirt. My take: Retard, Retard Retards!!! Uh, duh, I just got on my bike for the first time, and uh, watch me do a tailwhip. F---ing morons! The kid who asked the question is right on ( even though I think he got the trick name wrong). If you can't find a pool anywhere with the right setup in your town, learn hard tricks by doing this: take one of your old gt's out from the back of your garage that you used only for spare parts and take the crankset and wheelset off so you should only have the frame, fork, handlebars, seat/post. It would be a good idea to take the brakes off too. Then, take old t-shirts and wrap them around the bottom of the fork and tape them with some good old electrical tape (the grey kind). Then go find a trampoline in your town, and just start jumping. You will improve your talents guaranteed. Q: Hey, I just checked out your magazine and it is great. I am a producer for a show called Real TV and I was wondering...How do I find cool BMX footage to feature on our show? Do your reporters shoot video as well as stills? A: I am sure that we've all seen your show here at Plus! (kiss ass noises). We often see things that would make your ratings go through the roof but we only capture these crazy feets of humanity through stills. The only real way to get these things on film is to go to the places they ride, watch and wait. Money and food can also help in the bribing process. My take: God Dammit! I'm guessing that the shitheads at Plus!!! never saw a bmx video before, watched ESPN, or will ever have sex with a woman. And this kills me, how the producers look at bmx plus instead of ride bmx. And whats with al the shouting? Plus!!!!!! They must be on crack. Bribing process?! Forget it, I'm going outside. Q: Hi, I'm a 15 year old street and dirt rider. I noticed that a couple of riders have the chain and sprocket on the left of their bikes. I was wondering how you can change it from the right side to the left side. I need to know this because buying sprockets every month from hitting it when I grind. A: Your best bet is to learn how to grind correctly, if top pros can grind on the left side, why can't you? And what will happen when you start to get good and doing opposite grinds, switch everything back? Practice makes perfect, and if you must, buy a tougher drive train, it's heavy, but it works. My Take: Come on! This thing speaks for itself. I mean have they ever took the time to realize what freestyle means? Little sissy pansies giving kids wrong advice! Right now, I'm imagining some 9 year old trying to grind some flat rail they found or built, and they realize that grinding on the left just doesn't feel right. Are they gonna stop riding!? No! And they're even dumb enough to give the wrong advice. Yeah, make the kid spend $50 and buy a Profile Blackjack that's 3 feet thick. No, the thing that the kid should do is get a smaller drivetrain, like a 39-12 setup so if he screws up a grind, it won't even hit the chainwheel. Another option is coming soon. ACS (maker of fine freewheels) is coming out with a brand new type of freewheel, the Southpaw, made specifically for left hand drive in about a month. This will also be an optional feature on all Haro 2001 Mirra Pro, Mirra Flair, Blammo, and Shredder. Damn. Bmx Plus would give better bike advice if it were run by fruitbooters. |
