  • Motion to approve by R. Rosenfeld, 2nd P. Obradovich. Passed

 

4. Business arising out of the JCM Minutes

  • The chair promises to investigate whether or not the letter written to the S.A.C. president by the president of Trinity College and read by M. Bonner at the last meeting was actually sent or not.
  • Shelved motion from last meeting: Motion to make purchased Simpson’s DVDs College Property (S35-climed 12) by I. Simpson, 2nd D. Ort

Amended so that DVDs go to Head of Arts by D. Ort, 2nd J. Bell

  • Heads of College – Disgusted by VCR theft

Motion to give male Head of College $150.00 to by a new VCR and $15.00 for a lock, not a wok

  • Heads of Arts – Buttery party a smashing success, Senate forum on the 28th of January from 4:30 to 6:30 must be well attended to show the Senate that students care, three coats stolen from buttery party

Divinity receives JCM money but was not audited, Auditor will pursue, Divinity is not subject to the previous motion

  • SAC – Much ballyhooing and productive discussion on how much we don’t like S.A.C. president Alex Kerner. Report enjoyed by all.

·        Motion that in regard to all Trinity College Election Rules a metaballot refers to the single piece of paper issued to each student each week to vote with M. Karpinski, 2nd J. Bell

  • Motion that rule 4.03 be changed to read Heads of Arts, and other elections bumped down and the following week bumped down as well.

Point of Ort – Ort says that the TCLI constitution my contradict this rule

JCM chair decides to shelve until next meeting where there will be no discussion

J. Cherniak challenges chair’s decisions and loses, M. Karpinski promises to look into the TCLI consitution

 

 

13. Liberal Society

  • Motion to give official recognition to a Trinity College Liberal Society J. Cherniak, 2nd J. Somer

Friendly Amendment to change clubs name to Trinity College Society for the Appreciation of Liberalism

J. Cherniak promises to never ask for funding for this club

14. Provost Congratulations

  • Motion that the JCM send Provost-elect MacMillan congratulations via a card written by the JCM chair M. Karpinski, 2nd P. Obradovich

  • Duly noted that if the chair decides to buy a card, he may charge the JCM

 

15.  April event restrictions for non-levied clubs

  • Motion that clubs not allowed to spend more than 50% of their budges after April 1st effective immediately, unless explicilty allowed to by the JCM J. Cherniak, 2nd E. Lord

  • M. Karpinski reports on yearbook costs which seem high, J. Cherniak questions prices, Point of Ort to shelve discussion – Passes

  • Straw Poll question by M. Karpinski as to whether or not the JCM is in favour of paying the entire cost to ship yearbooks to all grads, Floor is against

  • Motion to shelve discussion on mailing of yearbooks until B. Glassford finishes yearbook preperation C. Butler, 2nd J. Gunn

  • D. Ort wants to know who is paying for correspondence with grads, Karp reports Convocation is
  • A. Morgan makes a preliminary report for the Internet Voting Committee, saying ROSI is the best option, and will not be ready till at least 2003
