High-iq

if the people who wrote those stories are supposed to be from high iq societies: they are pathetic: i have a far more stringent assessment of genius than any of these iq societies: the mega and titan tests are a complete waste of time: the gre is a solid test however. when i read robert frost or john keats, i see genius: i dont believe that either would have scored high on these types of tests. but i do not think that these tests have any merit at all. it is fun to take them and score high: i have some abilities developed and others undeveloped that, depending on the test, i can score a 132, a 138, a 151 or(one time) a 164: but that is so meaningless. i am TOO happy that i dont score too high on these tests because that would probably eliminate any chance i would have of being an innovator: it is so hard to explain the nature of turnung left in the forest a few times when everyone else turns right: and staying there a while: searching in a hundred ways for that which no one has seen before: and if you are lucky enough to find it, often completely unexpectedly, you are a genius: when ts eliot wrote the love song of j alfred prufrock, all that he saw in the world, the place he was in, his subtlest of hangups and mental ticks went into it: it s genius because it defined modern poetry at the time: so many thousands recognized the newness of it: that newness that he created, as beethoven did, as wodrdsworth did, and as copernicus and newton did, is totally impossible to measure or define: yet is the only measure of genius. to address this; people have created creativity tests: they are even dumber than iq tests: no matter how many objects you can se when you look at a shape, this will not at all determine whether you will make a leap into something completely new: many who take these tests do really well and wind up not really doing anything too original: others do not do well at all, but plod on in life, apparently uncreative, but just the overall structure of their path leads them down a far away road; till they come to place where they make their one innovation : and it is all they need to leave in the dust all those who try to be creative every day of their lives. it is necessary to have certain intellectual powers to be able to grasp all the information you need in order to change it around and be original: but there are different requirements for different fields: a music writer, if he is not sponsored, needs to have the basic capabilities to live and somehow record his musical ideas: beyond that he needs a knowledge and love for music: this could mean a thousand different things: depending on who he/she is, in what way he/she will be innovative( if someone will eventually create a wholly orginal melodic structure that influences many after him or is loved by millions, or is neither but in a hundred years eventually becomes recognized, then he needs some knowledge of rhythmic structure, but not full knowledge: though full knowledge will not hurt him: it is really the ability to know what level to involve rhythm into his work: another thing that is impossible to measure: or even more unsettling: to be lucky enough to NOT have rhythm too much on your mind when you are combining together the elements of your master piece in your mind: all the rest of your life you can think too much about this or that and not enough about whatever: but at the moment you are creating the innovative work, all your mental factors will be in the right balance for what you have created) thank you for hearing me out
