" Knocked Out By Triple 8 "

You know they want out the lights, start a fight… And they want to turn the image of boybands on its head and make it cool. Hail Triple 8!

Aces fave new lads in pop have already hit the top 10 with their debut single, topness to come.

We collared Justin, Jamie and Josh for a chat. Don't worry, the David and Sparx interviews are coming separately…

If knockout wasn't the first single I don't think it could've been on the alb, Jamie Triple 8 declares. Berlimey, worra statement!

There's elements of rock, r&b and pop all fused together, adds Justin on the newcomers sound. And Triple 8 are all about the performances too.

Too many acts in this country don't light up the stage when they go on, like Westlife, says Josh. Boring!

With five resting in pops retirement home, Triple 8 are being hailed as their hard and fast ladband replacements. David even raps like J.

We have got a bit of attitude and are doing stronger edged stuff but we want to set ourselves apart from the rest, declares Josh.

We don't want to swan through a performance on stage, we want everyone to look and think, This is hot!

There was no poncing around with tv auditions when Triple 8 got together. Although David was once in a band with Kym Marsh!

Justin and Sparx grew up together in Bristol, explains Josh, I met them through a producer and knew Jamie from football.

Our manager, Chris, knew David, we've been living together for a year and a half, everything slotted together.

Life with Triple 8 doesn't end when the working day finishes. Oh no, these chaps deal with the perils of being flatmates to boot.

Its cool actually, muses Justin. There's always someone to go out with. Its helped us get to know each other better before going on tour.

Josh is the tidy one of the group, Dave and Jamie are most likely to get a takeaway, Sparx can cook.

Down to earth Triple 8 like the idea of showbiz parties, but prefer to shun the vip areas and head straight for some bootylicious dancing.

There's so much pretentious atmosphere going around were not up for that states Josh.

A few people take themselves way too seriously. No matter what kind of act you are in this business, you've still got to have a laugh.

As they got used to the idea of being popstars, Triple 8 are happy to take songwriting and all that malarkey one step at a time.

We wanted the best songs on the album, whether written by us with producers, or them doing it by themselves, explains Jamie.

We're not songwriters at the end of the day, were learning. We've cowritten a few tracks.
