" Spotlight On New Boyband Triple 8 "
Though they're only just starting out, Triple 8 have big ambitions, citing Nsync as the band they aspire to be like in terms of success.
Fortunate then that they're name, which they spotted on an airport billboard, means good luck in Chinese.
We're not just about doing well in the uk, says Justin. We want to take it on to everywhere we can.
And as David confidently summarises We just want to be the best.
The five members of pop musics hottest new boyband, Triple 8, might have been up since 5am but they're still buzzing with energy.
The early start comes as no surprise given they've been working their socks off to promote debut single Knockout.
And the hard work paid off when the track debuted in last weeks charts at appropriately enough - number eight.
But far from tiring of the pop star life, the band are loving every minute.
New boyband Triple 8 are ready to admit that despite scoring a top ten hit with their debut single knockout they cant rest on their laurels.
We've been really busy, Iain Sparx Farquharson who, at 23, is the oldest member of the band.
But we know that we've worked hard enough and long enough for this and hopefully will reap the rewards soon.
We know there's a lot of work still to come but were ready for it.
The youngest member of boyband Triple 8, 17 year old Jamie Bell, is enjoying the attention from the quintets growing fanbase.
Its great getting attention from the fans and we've started to see a few familiar faces already, he says.
Because we know that people are appreciating us and supporting us, we're happy to work as hard as we can.
We just think, what would we be doing if we weren't doing this?
Like five who split up two years ago, Triple 8 are a brash band brandishing some terrific pop tunes.
Being compared to 5ive is cool because they were cool, admits band member David Wilcox.
They were the boyband it was okay to like because they seemed real.
Fellow band member Josh Barnett adds you've got to be true to yourself otherwise you start questioning why you're doing this job.
For all five members of boyband Triple 8, the charting of their debut single knockout is the culmination of a dream they've all had for years.
Sparx and fellow Tri[ple 8 member Justin Scott, decided six years ago they wanted to form, a band.
We met Josh first through our old management and he knew Jamie so they came together, explains Sparx.
Then our current manager told us about David, who Jamie knew of as well.
As far as Triple 8 are concerned the fact they were formed naturally through friends and contacts makes their professional life far easier.
Its good that we met socially first, says Jamie. Its too hard doing it through auditions.
And you can see why so many groups fail because of that. You cant just throw five people together.
With us, it was just getting that bond initially, David points out.
