Song for Lovers
by Kat

Disclaimers: Not mine . . . although I wouldn't mind if Jake let me borrow her Munchie.
Author's Note: This could be like a filler fanfic between Static Stars part 1&2. I wrote this in a moment of giddy anticipation for tonight's episode. I think all those juice drinks I had helped me also ;) Please don't flame me if this fanfic sucks :(

Lena didn't only give advice to me that night. She also played for me our song.

"We're gonna make it tonight
Yeah, something in the air tells me the time is right,
so we'd better get on"

"Throw caution to the wind. Take the leap while you're still young. It's time to follow your heart," she said to me.

"Take the leap while you're still young," sounded something my mom would say.

"It's time to follow your heart," sounded too fruity. A girl would love that line.

"Throw caution to the wind," was right up their with Feng Shu.

I could hear the song all the way into the bathroom.

"You know I'm waiting
Lord, I've been waiting all my life
but I'm too late again I know
but I was scared
Can't you see?
Oh, I'm moving like a train
into some foreign land
I ain't got a ticket for this ride
but I will"

I could hear the song fading faintly into the background as I pulled Jake into a kiss.

"And DJ, play a song for the lovers, tonight
These were songs for the lovers, tonight"

Everything I had been holding inside for Jake came out in that one kiss. I didn't hate myself for kissing a guy, but I didn't like that I turned into what many guys in school made fun off.

"We're gay!" I exclaimed. Jake may deny the fact all he wanted. Someone had to say the truth.

"No we're not Hamilton . . . look I have to . . . I gotta tell you something," Jake stuttered.

What was he getting at?

"But you have to promise not to be pissed off at me all right?"

I always had a rule whenever someone says not to get pissed by what they'll say to never answer yes. So I kept my mouth shut. Damn, they still ached for his kisses. Jake started fidgeting with his hands in a very nervous manner.

"I'm a girl."

Did I just hear that right?

"What are you talking about?!"

"It's true Hamilton."

"Jake stop that."

I felt like I'd been swimming inside a calm lake and all of a sudden coming up for air too quickly. This is all happening too fast. My head was spinning. All the while Jake was going off on some bizarre tangent trying to prove her womanhood.

"I am 100% female all right. I am obsessed with Sarah McLachlan and I have a subscription to Seventeen and my favorite nail polish is Barely Pink and I think I look fat in bikinis."

All I can is no tits not a chick, countered a sarcastic voice within me.

Jake pulled me into the bathroom. He ripped his shirt open. All coherent thought waved bye bye. I didn't need anymore proof. The way Jake filled out her bra said it all.

I couldn't say anything accept

"They're playing our song."

I left Jake or whoever that person was back there. I left the dance. I could hear the song's volume rise with each step away from there.

"Uh, to saw my lover, tonight
And DJ, play a song for my lover, tonight"

I couldn't stay I had to think.

After all that time thinking in my room I realized two things. One, I understood why she wore winter clothes in the summer heat. Two, I shouldn't be in my room. I should be with her. I realized more things too, but the two were really all I care to explain right now. I have somwhere to go to.

She was surprised when I kissed her inside her single bedroom. I don't blame her the way I walked out on her before in the bathroom. Her lips didn't tremble as my tongue slipped inside her mouth. Her own tongue met mine with equal passion eliciting a groan from my throat. She took the lead as she backed me onto the bed with a soft squeak from the mattress springs. On the bed her fingertips drew patterns across my cheeks as our lips met in silent conversation.

What did she tell me the whole time I was there in her room? She told me about her mom, and Consuela. Why she went to the boys school instead of the girls. She told of a life before me.

She even told me the name of our song as the sun peeked over the horizon.

It's called "A Song for Lovers."

Hope you liked the story ::gives big puppy dog eyes:: I NEED FEEDBACK PLLLEASE!! Feedback keeps me motivated to write more stories.
