bullet Eggs hatch into larvae usually 5-10 days after being laid.
bullet Larvae usually eat their egg case.  Larvae grow into caterpillars.
bullet Caterpillars eat vine and grow bigger and shed their skin several times.
bullet  Male provides sperm.  Female provides egg                 
bullet Egg and sperm need to join together to create a new Butterfly.
bullet Female lays many eggs on vine. 
bullet When they get big enough grow a hard skin.
bullet This is called a pupa. Pupas stay still and do not eat.  Adult Butterfly eventually comes out of  pupa.
bullet Adult Butterfly will live for a short time and must mate before it dies.
