Ven. Sister Basilia

A Nun For 70 Years

Venerable Sister Basilia Kugler passed away

on Sunday, July 10^th at Omaha Neb. At the age

of 86 years. She was a native of Waconia

having been born here, a daughter of the late

George Kugler.

In 1890 at the age of 15 years she entered the

religious order of the Franciscan Sisters and

upon her death had been in the service of God

for seventy years. From 1932 until 1947 she

was Provincial Superior of the Franciscan

Order.

Funeral services were conducted in Omaha,

Neb. And interment was in the convent

cemetery in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Peter

Mihm of Medicine Lake, Minn. Among

her brothers were the late John and Matt

Kugler who were the members of her

family who resided in Waconia through-

out their lifetime.
