Edith A. Wanous

FARIBAULT--Edith A. Wanous of Faribault, formerly of Blooming Prairie, died Tuesday, April 1, at District One Hospital in Faribault. She was 85.

Edith Ann Lund was born on Oct. 13, 1917, in Blooming Prairie, daughter of William T. and Anna Marie (Dusek) Lund. She graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1935.

Following high school, she attended St. Lucas Nursing School in St. Paul, earning a degree in nursing.

On Jan. 5, 1942, she married Emil E. Wanous at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin.

Mrs. Wanous worked as a nurse at the Owatonna and Austin Hospitals and later was administrator at the Blooming Prairie Nursing Home. She was a nurse for 34 years.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Blooming Prairie and the American Nurses Association.

Edith Wanous is survived by a sister, Marie Nelson of Faribault; and be nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 16, 1977 and a brother.

A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday at St. Columbanus Catholic Church in Blooming Prairie. The Rev. Richard Dernek will officiate.

Friends may call an hour before the service Thursday at the church.
