John A. Skalicky, 77, of 1351 S. Cedar, died Thursday morning at the Owatonna City Hospital. He was born April 9, 1895 in Steele County. He married Elizabeth Dusek on Aug. 2, 1916. She preceded him in death on July 26, 1946. Mr. Skalicky married Alice Fischer on Dec. 30, 1951.

He farmed in Summit Township for many years, and later moved to Owatonna, where he worked for R and C Appliance until his retirement in 1960. He was a member of the Owatonna Elks Club.

Surviving are his wife, Alice; one son, John Jr. of Owatonna; three daughters, Mrs. Earl (Joyce) Frennea and Mrs. V.I. (Margaret) Kubalski, both of Owatonna, and Mrs. John (Mary Lou) Sebesta of Rochester; six grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday at St. Joseph's Church. Friends may call at the Brick Funeral Home from 3 to 5 P.M. and 7 to 9 P.M. today, with a prayer vigil to be held at 8 P.M.
