Marie R. Dusek, 83, of Sauk Centre, died on Thursday, August 23, 2001, at St. Michael s Hospital in Sauk Centre.

Mass of the Christian Burial was held Monday, Aug. 27, at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. James Statz officiating with interment following in Calvary Cemetery.

Marie Dusek was born on January 23, 1918, in Melrose, Minn., to George and Rose (Kemper) Thieschafer. She married Albert Dusek on Oct. 25, 1938, at St. Joseph s Catholic Church in Grey Eagle. Since her marriage, she has been a resident of Sauk Centre and was a former employee of Swift and Company. She was a seamstress for many years and enjoyed quilting. For the past two years, she had been a resident of St. Michael s Nursing Home.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and Sauk Center Seniors.

She is survived by a daughter, Sr. Linda Dusek, OSB, of St. Cloud; brother, Robert (Gen) Thieschafer of Sauk Centre; sisters, Frances (Paul) Diehl of Burtrum, Alma (Howard) Glantz of Freedom, Loretta and Lorraine Schuett, Delores Lehrke, all of Little Falls, and Leona (Dan) Kruzel of Swanville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Al, on April 20, 1996; brother and sister, Raymond Thieschafer and Adella Marthaler.

Casket bearers were Jean Weinberger, Janet Lehrke, Melvin Kurowski, Mike Merten, Norbert Odegard and Jim Flowers with Marion Ruegemer as cross bearer.

Honorary bearers were Julitta Rachey, Esther Botz, Olive Haggerty, Lenore Schmitz, Marilyn Kurowski and Julianna Trisko.

Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral Service of Sauk Centre.
