William Lund

BLOOMING PRAIRIE -- William "Bill" Lund, Blooming Prairie, died Friday, Nov. 17, at Prairie Manor Nursing Home. He was 94.

Mr. Lunda was born Aug. 3, 1895, in Elmshorn, Germany. He came to the Blooming Prairie area when he was 5 years old.

He worked with his father as a blacksmith in Blooming Prairie, and in 1915, they built their own shop, where he remained his whole working life.

On Feb. 15, 1916, he married Anna Marie Dusek, in Blooming Prairie.

Mr. Lund was a member of St. Columbanus Catholic Church, Blooming Prairie.

He is survived by two daughters, Edith Wanous, Bradenton, Fla., and Mrs. Ed J. (Marie) Nelson, Faribault; a brother, John Lund, Denver, a sister, Josephine Zima, Minneapolis; a grandson, four great grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna, and a son.

The funeral will be at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at St. Columbanus Catholic Church. The Rev. Paul Halloran will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from3 to 8 P.M. Monday at Nichols Funeral Home, Blooming Prairie, and one hour before the service Tuesday at the church. A ladies rosary will be at 4 P.M. Monday, and wake prayers at 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
