VICTORIA: Hello and Welcome to London for Episode Two of the Reality Shoe. [Camera now shows a full view of Victoria in the Eye with the view of the city behind her.] Our first day of competition will occur here just outside the London Eye near the Waterloo Underground station and Jubilee Gardens. Our ten ladies will be strutting their heels in a pair of challenges. But first, we want to recap some of the goings on in the days prior to the first challenge as the contestants arrived and prepared for the competition.
VICTORIA: Two days before taping, the ten female team members arrived via Heathrow Airport, except for Karen, Susan, Nikki and Shelley who were driven by limo from their homes in the UK. [Camera shows scenes of the girls arriving by limo and walking through the airport.] They met with Kinja in a conference room in the BBC America building. Kinja started the meeting by asking the girls to introduce themselves to one another, then he began to explain the show.
[Camera films scenes in the conference room.]
KINJA: We are going to be filming a 6 episode reality series about something you love - shoes. You are going to get to wear some beautiful shoes that have been provided by our sponsors. This show is about beautiful women wearing beautiful shoes so that our sponsors can sell more beautiful shoes. The first episode will be an introduction to you and will have an audience participation segment. Episode 2 will be the first one we will film with you in it actively and that will be here in London. We have two sites in America in which to film then we come back here for the conclusion. Tomorrow we will contine to debrief you on the further details of the game, help you pick out a wardrobe and set you up with a professional manicure and pedicure.
KINJA: (continuing) You will be split into two groups of 5. In each residence you will be housed together in a suite so that you can get to know one another and for your last episode, develop a strategy. Here is how the teams will be divided: What we will call Team Manolo will comprise of the following - Karen, Maria, Missy, Teri and Caroline. Take this packed of materials with you and get in the first limo outside where you will be taken to your hotel. You are free to be tourists tonight. You will be on a large per diem so have a fun time. Meet here at 9AM tmorrow and be prepared for a long day - you will need to tell me who you select to be your team captain. The rest of you wil be Team Choo, Susan, Trisha, Jennifer, Nikki and Shelley. Same thing goes for you and you will be in the second limo outside.
VICTORIA: The girls followed instructions and made it to their individual suites at the Marriott Hotel County Hall near the London Eye. Team Manolo arrived in their suite to discover two queen size beds and one let-down couch. Nigel P provided the video footage.
KAREN [Asking the rest] Do you want to draw lots for the couch or would someone prefer to not have to share a room?
CAROLINE: I'd like the couch if it's okay with everyone.
VICTORIA: No one objected and the two beds were taken by Karen and Maria, and Missy and Teri. Soon all five were gathered in the living area and began to discuss what to do that evening. Missy and Teri were quiet and just soaking in the luxury of the place while the conversation began.
CAROLINE: Karen, you're from around here, do you know of anyplace good to go?
KAREN: Although I don't live in the city I have been here a few times. What are you looking for?
MARIA: Somewhere close to our place, with a good restaurant.
CAROLINE [interruption] ..and shopping.
KAREN: There is a place nearby called the South Bank Complex. It has everything you mention.
KINJA: [Show scenes of the five of them walking to the complex, see them eating and shoppping with a close-up of their feet while walking.] Team Manolo had a fun but mostly uneventful evening. Missy and Teri were beginning to forge a friendship and they enjoyed shoe shopping - what else! Caroline hung out mostly with Maria and Karen but was wondering just what was this whole reality shoe about. Karen was also curious and had not figured out what all thee girls had in common and why they were chosen. Maria tried to forget her clients back home and enjoy being away doing something completely unique and different.
VICTORIA: In suite Choo, a different approach was taken. Bert provided the Video coverage. Nikki saw the set-up and threw her bag on the couch. No one objected and similarly, Susan and Shelley both being from the UK and having already struck up a friendship, took one of the beds, leaving Americans Trisha and Jennifer for the other one.
TRISHA: I guess that leaves us for this room. You sleep on the right side or the left?
JENNIFER: It's been so long that I can't remember.
[Everyone began to unpack and Trisha and Jennifer began to take note of their suitcase contents.]
TRISHA: You have some beautiful shoes, what brand are those 2-inch mules over there?
JENNIFER: They're Ann Taylor. I love to shop Ann Taylor. You have some nice shoes as well. Where did you get those cute little gray mules?
TRISHA: They're a pair of Kate Spades I bought in New York when I was up there on a shoe modeling assignment.
JENNIFER: You're a shoe model? I thought you were a graduate student.
TRISHA: Actually, I only shoe modeled once a month for a year - it was a God-send that helped me pay for school without having to raid Daddy's wallet completely.
VICTORIA: Next door, Susan and Shelley were getting similarly acquainted.
SUSAN: So what do you think so far?
SHELLEY: I think there's a lot more to this game than they're telling us.
SUSAN: Probably so, I guess we just have to hang on and see what happens.
NIKKI: [Coming into the bedroom from the living area] So what can we do for fun. Either of you from around here?
SHELLEY: No I am from up near Nottingham.
SUSAN: I'm not either, but once when I came to the city we went to the London Eye and found this club nearby called the Jubilee Tavern. They had good food too.
VICTORIA: About that time Trisha and Jennifer came by to ask about dinner plans and soon the five of them went to nearby Jubilee Tavern for dinnner and drinks. [Camera shows them sitting around a large table with food and drink having a lot of fun.]
KINJA: [Scenes of the girls walking to the club - including a close up of their feet showing the shoes they were wearing, as well as scenes of them in the club are the backdrop for the narration.] That night the five of them had a fun time but some were wondering about why they were chosen for the game. Nikki liked the prospect of wearing and probably acquiring some new shoes for her wardrobe. Her job at the child care center left little money for nice shoes after her college tuition was paid. Trisha hoped she would not embarrass herself by losing a shoe. Susan and Shelley were both hoping that their shared secret - the thrill of losing a shoe - would not be discovered.
COMMERCIAL BREAK
VICTORIA: The next day, the girls went through orientation and a wardrobe selection and manicure/pedicure session. [Show scenes of picking out clothes from a rack, trying on shoes, nails getting painted, etc...] The guys arrived at their destination, the Hilton Hotel Green Park, which is near Picadily Circus and Buckingham Palace. Since the ladies were having their orientation, the guys were allowed to go out and enjoy the city for a few hours and also go through orientation that night while the ladies are out for the evening. This ensured that the familiar pairs would not cross paths. Once outside, the guys began to discuss what to do and get better acquainted.
JAY: Since you [Nigel C] and Mikeey are from the area, do you have any suggestions of what to do in an afternoon in London.
NIGEL C: Since our time may be limited and since it's nearby, how about touring Buckingham Palace. Actually I've never done it. How about you, Mikeey?
MIKEEY: No, me either. You know what they say you overlook the attractions in your home town. I've only ridden the London Eye when my girl friend Nikki's out of town family came into town.
SNOWMAN: Yeah, in Chicago I haven't been in the Sears Tower in 25 years.
DROPPEDIT: I'd love to see the palace too. My wife was a fan of Princess Di.
NIGEL C: Yeah, too bad she never seemed to fit in with the Royal Family.
NM: We don't have a royal family - unless you count the Bushes and the Clintons - but it's fun to admire them from across the pond as you call it.
VICTORIA: { Show scenes of the guys touring the palace] The guys took time to see the Royal Collection in the Queen's Gallery then got to enjoy seeing the Royal Horses in the Royal Mews. The art and furnishings in the State Rooms of the palace was magnificent. They finished their tour in the 42-acre Palce garden.
DREW: While Regis took the girls on a tour of downtown London, Sarah Jessica and I met the guys at the BBC studio afterwards for a 'special' wardrobe assignment. The guys arrived and found a team of makeup artists and a row of comfortable reclining chairs like you'd see in a salon. The cameras were rolling.
JAY: What have we here?
SARAH JESSICA: Some of you have friends or girlfriends in the show who do not need to know you are playing with them just yet. Some of you are going to have to be in disguise.
DROPPEDIT: But I don't know anyone in the game.
DREW: You are one of the two that don't. Jay's fiancee Trisha is in the game; so is Mikeey's girlfriend Nikki. Snowman works with Maria. Nigel C knows Karen from their youth. Those three will need to come in early in the AM before filming of the first game to get a disguise. We're not going to do anything drastic - just from the neck up. Jay, Mikeey and Nigel C, take some time to look over your options for wigs, facial hair and makeup and talk to the head stylist. She will organize everything so you will be in and out of here in an hour in the AM.
SARAH JESSICA: You need to be here by 7AM. The ladies will be arriving at 7:30 so you shouldn't cross paths.
VICTORIA: [Show scenes of the guys picking out their options.] Jay, Nigel C and Mikeey were good sports and had things picked out for themselves pretty quickly. Jay chose a blonde wig and matching mustache. Mikeey decided to go with the bald look and a cool pair of shades. Snowman is going for the gray look with some added wrinkles. Nigel C chose to lengthen his hair and add a full beard. When we get back from commercial we will begin the first event. Don't go away!
COMMERCIAL BREAK
[The scene shifts to a street view of London near the Jubilee garden. Camera shows close up of Victoria's face, then her feet then her face again before panning out to show the scene for the first competition.]
VICTORIA: We're standing on Belvedere Road near Jubilee Gardens in London ready to begin our first competition. Today, I'm wearing a high-heel Sergio Rossi Clog. Also with me are my celebrity judges Regis Philbin, Sara Jessica Parker and Drew Barrymore.
[Camera focuses on Regis then onto Sarah Jessica's face then feet then face again. The camera also zooms in on Drew's face, feet then face again before panning out to show all four together.]
VICTORIA: Sarah Jessica is wearing a Manolo Blahnik Pump and Drew is wearing a Jimmy Choo Slide. Regis, why don't you go over the rules for the first competition.
REGIS: Thanks Victoria; it will me my pleasure. This event is entitled, "Chicken Jaywalk." We've all seen it or been in a hurry and done it. You need to cross the road but there's no time to find a crosswalk. You take your chances and dodge the traffic until you get across the street. Sometime, ladies try this when they are not wearing the most secure footwear. In this event, each participant will cross the street wearing a Casadei flat mule, then change into a Manolo Blahnik flat mule. To make it more interesting, the ladies will be carrying the other pair of shoes they are not wearing going both directions across the sreet. There are two harards the ladies wil have to avoid. The first are golf carts going up and down the street at speeds up to 10 miles an hour. The second is the large gutter at the edge of the street on each side. Unless a shoe is lost down a gutter, you must control all 4 shoes to progress back and forth across the street.
KINJA: (narration) The guys, some of which are in disguise, are secretly part of the extras driving the golf carts trying to make the girls hurry across the street. [Camera shows the guys in their carts in disguise.]
VICTORIA: We drew for order and Team Choo will go first then Team Manolo. For this event as well as the next one three form each team will participate. Each Team Captain will be in both events. The Choo Team is lined up on the side of the street in the following order: Susan, Shelley then Nikki. Drew will send you off. Remember, the next one in line cannot go until the current contestant reaches the curb. [The four team members not competing are shown standing nearby wearing the shoes for the next event.]
DREW: On you mark, get set go! [The camera focuses on her feet then goes to a full body shot. Drew drops her hand and Susan begins across the street.]
[Background music plays and VICTORIA narrates. Susan steps out onto the street and immediately has to pull up to wait for a passing golf cart. Once it clears she hops forward just in time to wait for another cart. A couple more steps later, she's half-way across.]
Looking good thus far.
[She lunged out in front of another cart (Nigel C's) and left her shoe behind.]
Oooh, it got run over by the cart.
[Susan lunged back and poked her toes in her shoe and drug it across the pavement as she avoided yet another cart.]
Good move, Susan!
[Susan then took a chance and saw an opening and zig zagged across the street safely.]
Time to swap shoes.
[Susan slipped out of the Casadei and into the Manolo and picked up her Casadeis - one in each hand.]
You're half way there!
[Susan made a couple of moves and soon was halfway across. Susan went to dodge another cart (driven by Snowman) and he knocked one shoe out of her hand and it dropped to the pavement. Susan made to the curb and dropped her other shoe and began to celebrate.]
Wait, you committed a shoe fault, you have to get the other shoe back across from mid-street.
[She began to dash and dart again and made it out to where her shoe lay. She picked it up and started back.]
Okay Susan, bring it home.
[Susan did a spin move and spun out of one of her Manolos as she made her dash to the curb. It slung forward and went into the gutter.]
Susan, okay, nice run, go Shelley.
[Again, VICTORIA narrates. Shelley begins her trek across the street and decides to try a patient approach. She watches the flow of golf carts for a few moments.]
Shelley is studying the situation.
[She sees an opening and makes a dash past 3 carts and stops three-fourths of the way across to re-secure her right shoe on her toes.]
Great move Shelley!
[One more manuever and Shelley makes it across the street. But as she tries to change shoes, one of her Manolos falls off and slips into the gutter where it is unrecoverable.]
SHELLEY: [To Victoria and Regis standing next to her.] What do I do now?
REGIS: Wear the one Manolo and carry the Casadeis.
[VICTORIA continues narration. Shelley begins to out manuever the carts now one shod.]
You're doing fine, Shelley, keep it up!
[Shelley bravely picks her way across the street and makes it back across.]
Okay, Nikki, time for the anchor leg!
[Nikki steps off the curb to begin. VICTORIA narrates.]
Way to go Nikki; plan your strategy.
[Nikki struggles to keep her shoes on as she dashes in between the carts. At the mid-way point, she has an unusual occurrence. While swinging her arms for balance, she drops one of her shoes in the back of Jay's cart.]
You need to recover your shoe, Nikki.
[Nikki is startled, having just realized her shoe was gone from her hand. She looked around and it was not on the street. Having apprently figured it out she began to run down the road chasing Jay's cart. That was hard in one loose-fitting shoe. She lost one shoe off her foot in the process then proceeded to catch up to the cart and hopped on the back.]
Good save Nikki! Way to go!
[Nikki recovered her shoe and put it on her foot then picked up the shoe she lost and began to cross the rest of the way across the street. When she arrived, Victoria had some bad news for her.]
Nikki, you committed a shoe fault, you need to put on both Casadei's and carry both Manolos from the mid-street.
[Nikki sighed but made the swap and worked her way back across the street.]
Great Nikki, now swap and come back across.
[Nikki stepped out of her Casadeis and dropped her Manolos to the sidewalk and began to step off the curb before her toes were totally inside them. She found a good opening and passed right in front of the cart driven by Mikeey without recognizing him and made it to the mid-street point.]
Way to go Nikki, your almost home!
[Nikki waited a moment then zigged and zagged to the curb. Her shoe came off and landed on the lip of the gutter, but Nikki was able to reach down and reteieve then replace the shoe without incident.
VICTORIA: Good run, Choo team! The Manolo Team is lined up on the other side of the street in the following order: Karen, Maria then Caroline. Sarah Jessica will send you off. Remember, the next one in line cannot go until the current contestant reaches the curb.
SARAH JESSICA: On you mark, get set go! [The camera focuses on her feet then goes to a full body shot. Sarah Jessica drops her hand and Karen begins across the street.]
[Again, VICTORIA narrates.]
Good start, Karen!
[Karen carefully and skillfully darts and dashes in amongst the carts and make sit to the other side in the fastest time yet and without incident.]
Perfect half, Karen!
[Karen carefully swaps into her Manolos and starts out. She notices they are a little harder to keep on than the Casadeis. She darts around a cart that is unknowingly being driven by Nigel C and leaves one shoe behind. She has to cross back in front of a cart, retrieve the shoe and start again.]
Tough break, Karen, you're stil doing great, though!
Karen makes it to mid-street and this time kicks her shoe forward. It goes between the front and back wheels of a cart driven by Snowman and stops one foot from the edge of the curb.]
Close call, Karen!
[Karen makes a couple of fast moves and grabs the shoe by the toes and pulls it up onto the curb.]
Great, your turn, Maria!
[VICTORIA narrates. Maria, much like Shelley calculated the movement of the oncoming carts before heading out.]
Good strategy, Maria!
[However, Maria's experience turned south quickly. Getting around the first cart, she left one of her Casadei's behind and NM ran over it. Somehow it got caught underneath the cart.]
Go get it back, Maria!
[Maria switched to carry both Manolos in her left hand so she could be prepared. She ran one shod toward NM's cart and just as she caught up to it, the cart let go of its grip on the shoe and it lay on the street for Maria to retrieve it.]
You're okay, keep on crossing the street!
[Maria, now flustered had some success getting past mid-street then she stopped quickly and came out of a shoe but it was still in reach. A good opening came so she dashed the rest of the way across the street and began to swap shoes.]
Great, Maria, you're half-way there.
[Maria looked for another good opening and took it, then realized she had left her Casadeis on the sidewalk.]
That's a shoe fault!
[Maria had figured that out before being told and made her way to pick up her shoes. Once again she went onto the street and started around the first cart. Ahs she did she kicked back and one shoe flew backwards and went down the gutter. That startled her a bit and one of her Casadei's came out of her hands and joined the Manolo down the gutter.]
Tough luck, Maria, keep on trying.
[Maria, now one shod and holding one shoe finally got a rhythm and soon she was across the street]
Okay, now to wrap this up, Caroline.
[VICTORIA narrates.]
Let's have a nice last run, Caroline.
[Caroline, like Karen quickly manuvered the carts and had a perfect first half run.]
Awesome Caroline! A perfect half.
[Caroline swapped shoes and set out for a repeat performance. However as she passed Droppedit's cart, she was a little too close and while her foot was flexed upward, one of the wheels ran over the sole of her shoe and Caroline stumbled forward, her foot came out of that shoe, her shoe came off the other foot and both shoes fell out of her hand.]
Don't panic, take it a step at a time.
Caroline systematically put on the shoe that was run over by the cart, ran around NM's cart to get her second shoe. Shen she darted around yet another cart to reclaim the shoes that got thrown. Quickly she was at the finish line and the event was finished.]
Okay, nice recovery from disaster Caroline. Good job everyone! Back over to you, Regis.
REGIS: Now that the 3 participants from each team have gone though their run, Myself, Sarah Jessica and Drew will discuss and compile the team scores to be revealed a little later. [Show a side view Sarah Jessica and Drew - where you can see them playing with their shoes - working with various papers and talking to one another.] We'll have more after this commercial break. [Camera pans the 6 contestants who just finished. Susan and Sheley are holing their single Manolo and wearing their Casadeis. Nikki and Caroline are still wearing their Manolos and carrying their Casadeis. Karen has switched to wear her Casadeis and is holding her Manolos and Maria is wearing one of each - fortunately she lost one right and one left. Group seen walking toward Waterloo Station.]
COMMERCIAL BREAK
VICTORIA: [Victoria is filmed walking down the stairs into the Waterloo Underground Station.] Welcome back! I am descending the stairs into the Waterloo Underground Station. Regis, why don't you go over the rules for the second competition.
REGIS: I'd be glad to, Victoria. This event is simply entitled "Mind the Gap" We have an off-duty train from the London Underground set-up next to the platform at the Waterloo Station. Anyone from London knows that some of these platforms are very old and the trains do not fit perfectly. [Regis walks over to show the gap] There is indeed a horizontal distance between the edge of the train to the edge of the platform and they are not at the same height either. One must be careful to not lose things into this hole. An average of 10 shoes a day are lost down into the gap in the London Underground system. The lost and found looks like the display rack at your neighborhood department store. In fact, when the train rolls into the station, a voice reminds everyone to MIND THE GAP. For this challenge, each of the ladies will be wearing a pair [Regis holds up and illustrates the shoe] of Pelle Moda high heeled mules. This is a beautiful shoe with a black upper and a lacy adornment. The ladies will be asked to hurriedly run down the stairs into the subway car entering through the left door, traverse through the car and out the right door back onto the platform. Then they have to enter the second car on the right side then traverse through the car and out the left side and run back up the stairs to the street. They will be judged on how quickly they manuever the course in their shoes and how they handle any obstacles they incur. One surprise for them will be that their male team counterparts will be part of the extras inside the cars simulating a full subway car. Unless a shoe is lost in the Gap, you must control both shoes on the entire route t each stage.
KINJA: (narration) The guys, some of which are still in disguise, are secretly part of the extras in and around the subway cars giving the girls trouble keepping their shoes on. [Camera shows the guys in disguise.]
VICTORIA: Since Team Choo went first last time, Team Manolo will go first. The team captains, Karen and Susan, who were in the first event will also be in this event. The Manolo Team is lined up a the top of the stairs in the following order: Missy, Teri then Karen. Sarah Jessica will send you off. Remember, the next one in line cannot go until the current contestant reaches the top of the stairs. [The four team members not competing are shown standing nearby wearing the shoes from the previous event.]
SARAH JESSICA: On you mark, get set go! [The camera focuses on her feet then goes to a full body shot. Sarah Jessica drops her hand and Missy begins the trek down the stairs.]
[Narration by VICTORIA]
Missy is off to a good start.
[Missy methodically manuvers the long stairwell making a lot of noise with her mules clacking on the concrete steps.]
Down the stairs okay.
[Missy steps into the first car and she feels the tip of her heel knock against the edge of the car. Her shoe comes part of the way off, but Missy recovers.]
Wow, close call, there Missy.
[Missy works her way through the crowd. As she passes Jay, he watches for her to lift her foot off the floor and he tries to kick off her shoe. He is partially successful, but again Missy makes a good recovery and steps out of the first car and into the second one.]
Great, Missy one more car to go.
[This car is a little more crowded. She brushes by NM and Mikeey, but is careful to keep her feet low to the ground. She makes it out of the second car without incident and runs toward the stairs.]
Bring it home Missy!
[Missy, feeling a little over-confident possibly gets about halfway up the stairs then her right shoe slips off and bounces all the way down to the bottom.]
Uh oh, gotta go down and get it.
[Missy limps down one-shod and recovers her shoe before, unknowingly, Droppedit was walking over to try to kick it away. She gets the other shoe on and more slowly traverses the steps and finishes her round.]
Good job, Missy, okay Teri!
[Again, narration by VICTORIA]
Teri carefully traverses the stairs.
[She heads toward the first car and when she stepped in, she knocked her heel into the edge and unlike Missy, the impact took the shoe completely off and into the gap.]
PUBLIC ADDRESS: MIND THE GAP
[Continued narration by VICTORIA]
Uh oh, a major shoe fault. Just keep moving, Teri.
[Teri, not one-shod weaves her way amongst the people. Jay and Nigel C work together to make one of the gaps to fit between very small, but she makes it any way out of the first car and into the second.
Okay, Teri keep on moving.
[Teri has her foot stepped on twice in the second car and NM is able to knock her shoe partially off but Teri quickly recovered it in time to begin limping toward the stairs.
Bring it home, Teri!
[Teri, with difficulty in one shoe, walks up the stairs to the top to complete her round.]
Alright Teri, you made it back okay. Karen, let's wrap up the round!
[Continued narration by VICTORIA. Karen starts down the steps and about half-way down her right shoe tumbles off to the bottom of the stairs and Nigel C takes the opportunity to kick the shoe down the corridor parallel to the subway car.]
Go find it, Karen!
[Karen lopsidedly makes her way the rest of the way down the steps and looks down to see her shoe resting about 30 feet away. She hobbles over and replaces her shoe then runs diagonally to get on the first car without incident.]
Good job getting back on track, Karen.
[Karen does a good job avoiding the crowd in the subway car and makes it out successfully then enters the second car.]
Safely inside the second car.
[Once inside, Karen gets about hald way in and then her heel catches on a metal gap in the floor and her foot comes out of her shoe. She slides into a nearby seat and is able to grab her shoe and put it back on before exiting the car.
Nice move, Karen. Bring it home!
[Karen started to go up the stairs when one of her shoes fell off behind her and slid all the way back and into the gap.]
PUBLIC ADDRESS: MIND THE GAP
[Continued narration by VICTORIA]
Uh oh, a major shoe fault. Just keep going.
[Karen makes it up the stairs one shod and to the top without further incident.]
VICTORIA: Good job Team Manolo! It's now time for Team Choo, who is lined up a the top of the stairs in the following order: Jennifer, Susan and Trisha. Drew will send you off. Remember, the next one in line cannot go until the current contestant reaches the top of the stairs.
DREW: On you mark, get set go! [The camera focuses on her feet then goes to a full body shot. Drew drops her hand and Jennifer goes down the stairs.]
[Narration by VICTORIA]
Jennifer starts off well.
[The sound of her mules slapping echoes loudly.]
Those shoes are noisy, aren't they!
[Jennifer makes it to the bottom okay then boards the first car. Droppedit tries to crowd the door as Jennifer enters but she is able to elude his effort.]
Good move, Jennifer, keep it up!
[Jennifer makes it through the car without incident then exits before reentering the other car. Snowman sees her coming and tries to kick her shoe off as she passes but she is able to press down with her toes and keep her shoes mostly on her foot. A few more moves and she deboards the second car.]
Excellent run so far! Keep it up.
[Jennifer knowing she has a good run going plays it a little safe and walks up the steps at a steady but moderate pace. She arrives at the top without incident.]
Fantastic run, Jennifer, our first perfect run today! Your turn Susan! [Jennifer even gets a hug from Drew for her perfect round.]
[Again, narration by VICTORIA. Susan hurries down the steps and on the last step her shoe bobble slightly. After a couple of steps her toes are fully back inside her shoe.]
Good recovery, Susan!
[Susan edges her way sideways through the first car keeping her feet firmly near the floor. Mikeey's attempt to disrupt her rhythm is thwarted and she exits the first car and enters the second car cleanly.]
Good job Susan! You're half-way home!
[Susan meets trouble in the second car. while moving through the aisle, she made the mistake of briefly resting her knee on one of the seats. Nigel C was there to knock the shoe to the floor. Jay perfected the move by kicking the shoe under the seats. Susan looked around briefly then exited the car one shod.]
Uh oh, Susan, you committed a shoe fault. You will have to reboard the car, locate your shoe and come out with it.
[A frustrated Susan limps in one high heel back to the other entrance and makes her way to where the shoe was lost. She makes some room and gtes down on her hands and knees and looks for it. After a 2 minute search, she finds the shoe and grabs it. As she exited the car she puts it back on.
That's okay, Susan, bring it home!
[Susan makes her way up the stairs without any more problems.]
Okay Susan, now your turn Trisha!
[One final time, narration by VICTORIA. Trisha began her descent into Waterloo Station.]
Let's have a good ending to our event, Trisha!
[Trisha walked down the stairs with her feet at a 45 degree angle to help keep her balance traversing the stairs. She made it to the bottom without incident.]
Good descent, Trisha!
Trisha began to run toward the subway car and one of her shoes slipped off in front of her. It looked as if it woudl go into the gap but it took an odd bounce at the right time and landed inside the car.
Nice lucky bource there Trisha!
[Trisha hobbled one shod into the car where Mikeey had seen the shoe and kicked it further into the car. She looked all around and, like Susan, ended up on hands and knees looking for her other shoe. After 90 seconds or so she located it and put it on to make her way out of the first car.]
Okay Trisha, you're halfway there!
[Trisha, having won a victory by recovering her shoe let her guard down and as she entered the second car, the same shoe that had just come off slipped off again down int to gap. She stopped to see if she could reach it and she coundn't so she proceeded.]
PUBLIC ADDRESS: MIND THE GAP
[Continued narration by VICTORIA]
That's a shoe fault, continue with one shoe.
[Trisha tried to avoid her bare foot getting stepped on as she made her way through the crowd. Near the end, she felf someone's foot knock her shoe to the side - it was Nigel C. She stepped out of the shoe and stooped to pick it up. As she carried it out of the car, she knocked it against the door and it fell out of her hand and down into the gap.]
PUBLIC ADDRESS: MIND THE GAP
[Continued narration by VICTORIA]
That's another shoe fault. Ooh, both lost to the gap, come on upstairs, Trisha.
[Trisha feeling defeated runs barefoot to the stairwell and up the stairs to the end of the event.]
Welcome back, Trisha! Good job everyone! Back over to you, Regis.
REGIS: Now that the 3 participants from each team have gone though their run, Myself, Sarah Jessica and Drew will again discuss and compile the team scores to be revealed after our commercial break. [Show a side view Sarah Jessica and Drew - where you can see them dangling their shoes - again sitting at a table working with various papers and talking to one another.] We'll have more after this commercial break. [Camera pans the 6 contestants who just finished. ]
COMMERCIAL BREAK
