5th October:
Got a couple of points to make today. Stacy seems to be receiving a huge push from the WWE right now. Whether or not this means she'll be challenging for the Women's Title any time soon is unclear. But what does annoy me is that her wrestling skills have hardly improved dramatically, yet she has now won three times in a row on RAW against opponents who usually she wouldn't stand a chance against. I'm all for giving different Divas pushes, but the WWE should at least try and be realistic about how they portray it.
My next point is on the
topic of breasts. Nidia relatively recently took some time off wrestling to
have a boob job. Now I'm not complaining about what she personally decides to
do, but rather the hypocritical message the WWE is sending out. Not too long
ago Bobbi Billard was dropped from a WWE developmental project after receiving
neck damage severe enough to require surgery. On leaving, Billard made claims
that Ivory was constantly in her face, largely because she was perceived as
being another blonde with big tits. I don't know for sure how valid Billard's
claims are, but on the one hand the WWE has released an attractive woman with
prior wrestling experience. Whilst keeping on someone with a similar degree
of wrestling know-who, who has also been allowed to turn herself into the bimbo
that WWE appeared to dislike. You tell me if that’s joined-up corporate
thinking.
20th October:
Just had a chance to check out the caps from the Taboo Tuesday PPV, and all I can say is wow. Trish looked absolutely amazing, especially compared to some of the dire performances she's put in recently. I think the below photo also highlights why so many of us like Trish; for what she has to offer up front. Enjoy ;)
25th December:
The lady in the picture with Trish is April Hunter. Some of you may have heard of her before, as she's an aspiring wrestler in the NWA promotion. She's also done work in Japan and many would agree that she is one of the hottest female talents out there. Despite having attended a WWF training camp at one stage, the WWE has yet to have the sense to offer her a contract and to get her wrestling on their shows. Although she may have a 'unique' look, she mixes well the combination of beauty and strength. Fingers crossed that in the new year the WWE will have the vision to employ her and perhaps drop some of the Diva Search girls that they've recently given out contracts to.
15th February
Hmm, I've just read the report from the latest RAW and things may be taking a turn for the worse. It's taken Trish around 4 years or so to become the respected wrestler that she is today. She may not be perfect, or the world's best, but there's no denying that she's come on leaps and bounds since her debut in 2000. On the most recent RAW, we saw the laying of a foundation for a feud between Trish and Christy Hemme; both nice girls, but only one can wrestle. The best Christy has mustered thus far has been rolling around on the ring apron, and boxing with huge novelty gloves. I realise that Christy has expressed an interest in wrestling, and has been reported to have attended training sessions, but do we really need some crappy catfights between Trish and Christy in the near future? I'd much rather see another red-head brought in to fill the void that Lita's latest injury has created...
14th December 2005:
The last couple of weeks on RAW have seen an interesting turn of events. Firstly we had the invasion of RAW by Melina and MNM and Trish's subsequent kidnapping, and now we have the situation whereby #1 fan has become #1 contender for the Women's Title, and will soon be facing her heroine for the championship. But it's also been impossible for me to fail to notice the sudden change in wardrobe for some of the Divas. Mickie James has shown a good variety and is naturally pretty, so I'm content no matter what she wears, but Trish has surprised me the most. Her usually conservative and practical attire has reverted back to echoes of her attire during her T & A days. Although nowhere near as revealing, they certainly have made me sit up and take notice again.
But for me, Candice Michelle has really been stealing the show recently. She was arguably the best looking of all the Divas at the special RAW Halloween show. Trish looked quite nice as Wonder Woman, Mickie James looked plain stupid as Trish, I've never cared for Maria so her best efforts as an angel didn't change anything for me, Victoria looked suitably menacing, Ashley looked pretty hot, but by far the best was Candice as Cat Woman. She fitted the character perfectly and her backstage segment was great to watch. Her choice of a corset as appropriate wrestling attire a few weeks down the line was another good choice, as was the time when she accompanied Torrie Wilson and Victoria to the ring wearing a very nice pink bikini type thing.
What has recently cemented her stunning looks in my head was her backstage segment with Vince McMahon where she asked if she could become the next General Manager. Although these GM's seem to come and go pretty quickly and I expect Candice to be no different, I certainly won't have a problem with her appearing on my TV more often. As a wrestler she's still got a long way to go and it’s hard to tell if she's even trying. But as a bit of T & A she is more than adequate. If we can expect to see more of the same from her in the next few weeks then I've got some pretty high hopes. Things would be even better if she put some serious time into learning to wrestle as well. That way the WWE would have three hot Divas who are also damn good wrestlers; Trish Stratus, Mickie James and hopefully Candice Michelle. Even if she's only with the company for the next few months, I hope that we see at least more of the same if not an improvement from her in terms of her choice of attire. Candice is definitely a girl who knows she has a great body and is not afraid to show it. I wish all the rest of the WWE Divas were willing to be so adventurous in their wardrobe choices. It is possible to strike a balance between looking good and practicality.
