This week on RAW, Trish was scheduled to take Mickie James on in singles action. Before the match could get underway however, Edge and Lita made their way to ringside and started talking trash. Eventually Lita hit the ring and took Trish out with a spear. Carlito tried to come to her aid but met the same fate at the hands of Edge. Later backstage, Trish and Carlito were shown together with Trish making clear that she wanted to take Lita out. She got caught up in the heat of the moment and planted a kiss on Carlito before she left, much to his enjoyment. Later still, a tag match was announced pitting Trish and Carlito against Lita and Edge. Early on in the match, Lita had Trish where she wanted her as she kept her subdued with a sleeper hold. But Trish fought back and was able to score the Stratusfaction on her. Shortly after, Edge went to spear Carlito who ducked out of the way, and it was Trish who met Edge's blow. Carlito and Edge then rolled out of the ring, allowing Lita to score an easy pinfall on the prone Trish. |

Backstage Trish and Carlito were shown together. Trish told Carlito that she would take care of Lita so long as he focused on his singles match against Edge and took him out. Trish duly took care of Lita and the stage is now definately set for a triple threat match at Summer Slam.
SummerSlam
2006 |
At this year's SummerSlam, the rumoured triple threat match between Lita, Trish and Mickie James for the Women's title failed to materialise. Many believed that this PPV would have been the swansong for Lita and Trish, but instead Lita accompanied Edge to the ring for his match against John Cena and Trish Stratus was involved in a segment backstage, whilst Mickie remained absent from all of the proceedings. Trish and alot of the other Divas ganged up on the latest Diva Search winner Layla in a practical joke which saw them drenching her in the showers. Hardly the most inspiring of segments. |

This week on RAW, Trish took on Victoria in an unexpected singles match considering the recent rivalry Trish has been having with both Lita and Mickie James. The match was fast-paced and largely dominated by Trish, so it was little surprise when she picked up the win. All in all a pretty good match.

What's been a mere rumour for many months now has finally been confirmed by both Trish Stratus and the WWE; Trish is set to retire, but will only be leaving the company sometime after Unforgiven. Original rumours suggested that SummerSlam would have been the end of Trish's career, but it now looks like that the 17th September PPV could be the final chapter in Stratus' long and illustrious career. This news was confirmed by Trish on RAW where she remarked she was upset that Lita had chosen to break the news on her behalf, rather than allow her to do it herself. It has also been confirmed via an article on WWE.com. It is still unclear whether Lita will be leaving at the same time, but either way a Trish/Lita feud is likely to bookend Trish's career. Lita was the first Diva Trish really feuded with on RAW and I suppose it's only fitting that she'll be the last Diva for her to feud with too. Trish was also briefly shown backstage with Carlito. |
